We purchased this insert to fit an existing ventless gas fireplace surround. It arrived well packaged. We purchased the trim kit bundle. It made the electric fireplace look that much more realistic! The flames, ember bed snd brick background are great! My only complaint would be the thermostat. There is no thermostat temperature setting on the remote. There is only a knob on the fireplace for that. For the price it would have been great to have this on your remote. Otherwise, we are very happy with our purchase! ... show more

I love, love, love this! It was hard to find an electric fireplace that fit my old 1960s tract house fireplace opening and that works well and looks good -- and this one is! I had it professionally installed. I love the remote control, the options for different flames, and the different heat output options. I don't use the crackling sound option much, but I do love that one of them has a dog bark in it! Makes people laugh! (And if you don't like that, you can choose one of the other tracks). I imagine when the recorded the campfire, some random dog barked in the background. I've had it for a few months now, and I'm very happy. Highly recommend. ... show more

We live in a 560 sq ft park model. There is a small cabinet that our livingroom TV sits on and I very much wanted an electric fireplace. Someone had already added power inside for a sound system and we only had to cut back a wall on one side and were then able to slide the fireplace right inside. It sits flush and looks like the cabinet was made for it. My only issue is a battery was not included for the remote and it is a special round battery so will require a trip out. I bought this version because it had outside knobs so if the remote died you could still operate it. The knobs are hidden whch is appreciated. The handles on the glass doors and the screens on either side are a nice touch. It is insanely quiet and quite nice to look at. It is a wonderful addition. ... show more

This previously had a wood burning fireplace insert. The hard part was finding someone to do it: remove the insert, add electricity - tapped into a line from The balcony. I love the crackling sound and flames are great. Second photo is another one, inserted into what was a fireplace that used cans of wood gel. So we are putting this in an existing mantle that we have bought and are repainting and this looks great so far inside. Everything works great. This is about as realistic as is gets without it being a gas log or a real fireplace. The media could not be loaded. I've been looking at electric fireplace inserts for a while and this price point was at the top of my budget. I had an Amazon gift card to help with cost and decided on this model with mostly excellent reviews. I'm so glad I chose this one! First, it arrived several days earlier than the estimated delivery date, yay!! It came extremely well-packed and was easy to unbox and locate all the essentials. It is sturdy, made with metal and glass, so I wasn't nervous about handling it to get it unpacked and positioned in my fireplace. I knew some minor prep was needed because the best-fitting unit was a little short for my fireplace opening. I cut a 2x4 board segment and sprayed it flat black (and added another short piece behind it for a level base) to sit under the flat bottom. This easy fix works and blends in perfectly. Also, I needed the power cord to extend from the left side to reach the nearest outlet, and there was plenty space behind the housing to conceal most of a 6ft heavy-duty extension cord. The front trim is perfect and I half-expected the little grate that covers the controls to be plastic, but it is metal like all the black trim. I was so excited to get it plugged in....and yes, the "fire" is remarkably satisfying. While it's true it won't fool many (I grew up with a wood burner), it's easy, clean, safe, non-smelly, and gives a cozy ambiance to the room. There are enough crackle sound choices to find one to suit me and while I don't use the heat function, it's nice to have the option. There is a low hum to the unit when it is running, even without the fan going, but I already don't notice it anymore. I've had it almost a month now and I still LOVE it. My mom visited the first afternoon it was in and thought I'd had gas logs installed, lol. She was pretty impressed it was electric and a total illusion! The details that really sell it are the nice glass doors and the little safety chain curtain that looks far superior to the flat glass panel on the front of other models/brands. Noting another buyer's concern about the unit tipping out when glass doors are open, I used a bead of hot glue to secure the top edge trim to the tile behind it. My plan B was to apply a couple strips of extra strength velcro, but the glue appears to be doing the trick. Plus, there's been no need to open the glass doors once installed. Very attractive and easy to install. Nice product and good value. Only complaint is that the company has yet to contact me with an answer to an operational question. Poor after sale service. Beware!
