This does take a while to put together and not the time they say for it to be put together. My escape artist of a dog figured out the latch on the top door of this within 2 days of having her in it. However, knock on wood, she hasn't figured out the main door latch and it has kept her in there since we have gotten it. The trays on the bottom are nice for getting rid of hair and dirt, but we had to put dog beds in for her to lay on due to the bigger spaces (and metal) in the bottom of the kennel for comfort and safety.     • Some hitches but mostly ok
Crate seems strong, well built, and heavy duty. Emphasis on the heavy part. So far no escapes and no destruction. However I do have a beef with the seller. Mine was assembled using two left panels. The way it's built isn't fool proof and it looks like the people putting these items together is definitely a fool. At nearly 200 dollars this is inexcusable. They could not send me the right panel only. Not the seller, not Amazon. No one. They were prepared to send me a new free crate over it because the packaging is held on with bands which had to be cut and Amazon wouldn't replace it without receiving the old one intact. Seriously ridiculous I had to go through this but in the end I felt a second crate would be taking advantage so I just took the 20% partial refund and will be altering it so it'll fit just to cut down on waste and save everybody money. Just be advised my experiences were not good but the seller was willing to do anything to make me happy. In the end I just wanted what I paid for. ... show more

I got a pitbull / bulldog mix a few months ago, and when he's left alone (especially during the work day) he would love to chew and get into things (especially the trash!) I bought the large crate, I didn't want to spend a ton of money and this cage fit the bill perfectly. The metal bars and doors are thick, there's no way any animal could get out of this. It's way better than one of those "pop up" crates, now my dog is used to getting into it when I leave home. ... show more

    • Very sturdy crate stopped our Escape Artist Dog!
We have an escape artist jack russell that would stop at nothing to get out of her old regular crate. This put an immediate end to that. Removable pan makes it easy to clean. Also handy that the top locks and lifts. Wish this came in a much smaller size though. Would also be a great idea if there were a divider to buy with this too for instances of crate/ potty training smaller dogs that will grow to fit this cage. Also nice if they have a cover for this like smaller regular cages do since most dogs do tend to like more cave like areas I think our dog would love if we darkened this crate too ... show more

    • Latches have to be replaced.
The bars are sturdy, but the latches are very weak and flimsy. We bought other latches and screwed them down. Our little Houdini was still able to eventually break out, but he’s determined.

We love it! Our dog does so well in it, before this she ate/ripped her way through 6 other cages. We only put her up when we go to the grocery store because she has separation anxiety and tries to eat the door. Out of all the cases we have ever got, this one does the best. There's plenty of room for her and she gets comfy with a blanket and settles right down. ... show more
