This is a nice umbrella, and I was able to put it to the test this weekend. My husband and I were in Santa Fe, and our hotel was within walking distance of their historic downtown district. It had rained a bit on and off that afternoon, so we grabbed the umbrella before heading out for dinner. We walked about a quarter mile to the restaurant and ate, then walked back to the hotel in an absolute downpour. The umbrella was big enough to keep me dry from the waist-up. The handle was comfortable and easy to hold. I took one star off because it's really not easy to snap back into the base when you're done with it; I had to hand the sopping umbrella to my husband so he could do it. ... show more

This is a good umbrella that is fairly well constructed. It is not a pocket umbrella but still smallish and portable enough to take around with you easily. It opens and closes easily.

I'm not sure what to write about an umbrella. It's compact, opens easily, keeps the rain off your head. I mean, that's the point of an umbrella. I keep it in the car -- tiny, fits any space, handy for when it rains. Turns out that's not very often, but I am prepared for when it does!

This is a larger diameter umbrella, which is good because the smaller ones always manage to be too small with the slightest bit of rain. However for the diameter, I feel that the shaft is a bit short, makes me feel like I have to hold it up high. Another drawback is that the torsional rigidity of the shaft is not really that great. Just imagine what would happen with strong winds twisting the umbrella in your hand. I found the mechanism to be a bit finicky. If you push the button to close, but want to open it again, it seems you have to compress the shaft again or it will not lock back into place. The spring is actually under pretty high tension. Be careful not to "halfway" the process when attempting to fold the umbrella away, or you might get a surprise punch in the gut or face from the grip. Overall, the value is good and well worth keeping one in a car or a bag "just in case". ... show more
