I work from home and sit at my computer most of the day, so my lower back and shoulders are usually pretty tight by bedtime. My old mattress was too soft and I always felt like I was climbing out of a dip whenever I turned over. This one felt a little firmer than I expected on the first night, but after a couple of nights I got used to it. It does not feel hard, just steady. My waist and hips do not sink too far down, and I can lie flat without feeling like part of my back is hanging in the air. I sometimes do a few stretches on the bed after work, and the surface stays even when I change positions. I also sit against my pillows with my laptop sometimes, and I do not slowly slide down like I did before. The mattress is quiet when I move around, and the edge feels stable enough when I sit down. I really like the simple pattern on top The first thing I noticed was the pattern on the top of the mattress. It is mostly white with small round dots spread evenly across the surface. The design is simple, but it keeps the mattress from looking too plain. Before putting the sheets on, I ran my hand over the top, and the little raised areas felt soft and even. They did not feel hard, rough, or bumpy at all. After adding a fitted sheet, I could not really feel the pattern while lying down, so it does not affect the comfort. I also like the contrast between the white top, dark trim, and gray sides. It gives the mattress a clean and finished look. The medium firm feel is supportive, but the top still has a bit of softness to it. Overall, the pattern looks nice in person and adds some detail without being too busy. ... show more

The first thing I noticed was how tall this mattress made the finished bed. 14 inches is substantial, especially when placed on a frame that already sits fairly high. I like the added height, but shorter buyers may want to measure everything together before ordering. The mattress itself feels balanced rather than extremely firm. The upper section compresses slightly when I lie down, then the deeper layers stop my hips from continuing to sink. I usually sleep alone, and the Full size gives me enough room to move without taking up as much space as a Queen. The extra thickness also keeps the mattress from feeling thin or close to the support underneath. I have slept near the middle and along both sides, and the feel stays fairly consistent. The white fabric has small round depressions that look simple and do not create noticeable bumps beneath a protector. One practical issue is that the mattress is heavy, so placing it correctly took two people. Once it was set up, it stayed square on the frame and has not needed readjusting. ... show more
