My wife and I have a fairly big garden along with many plants and shrubs. We only had one set of shears and decided to buy another pair. I have been using these for a few weeks now and they are working great. The blade is very sharp and the adjustable setting allows for a more comfortable grip in my hand. The lock mechanism works as described and the build seems to be of very good quality. I can imagine that these will stand the test of time and I will get my money's worth before they wear out. The blade comes pre-oiled and ready to use right out of the box. I have young children, so be careful to block the shears in place when not in use. It is extremely sharp and can cause serious damage if placed in the hands of a child or someone who does not know how to use properly. ... show more

Ok. So I bought these to use around the garden. And they work great. In addition, my eldest son used these to trim some barbecue skewers for a project. So we've established they prune well. Lastly, they come with the most comedic translations which alone is worth the price.

    • Sturdy and a great lock
I think this is a super sturdy set of shears. I bough it specifically for the lock it has since I feel like a lot of the plastic ones do not stay in tact. I have had no issues with it being difficult to move and the lock is very durable as well. I foresee these lasting me a long time.

    • Really Effective Pruners
The handle is cushioned which makes these pruners slightly clumsy to use at first. The sharpness and leverage makes cutting thick roses and blackberry vines easy. I recommend these pruners.

These shears are very comfortable to use with the soft foam covering on handles for many hours of use. The overall size of the shears and the blades is big enough that you can cut through larger size branches easily.
