This mallet is an ideal general use mallet for Concert applications where you are playing on the upper half of the marimba register and need an articulate sound to cut through the ensemble. Uses a standard 5/16” Birch shaft for a light and nimble feel. Spur is a collaboration with world-renowned percussionists, designers and educators Kevin shah and tony Nunez. Sticks are unfinished, raw light wood. One is slightly, very slightly off of straight. It does not bother when playing marimba, however. Good value heads are nicely woven and on the heavy side.
