    • Better than expected.
I got this to hook to my phone for making quick videos and audio notes. I record stuff in the shop so I can refer back to it at a later time. This mic sounds a lot better than I was expecting for the price and that silly little wind screen actually works really well. Now if I can just keep my pitbull from chewing it off of me. I have it clipped to the front pocket of my work bibs and every time my pitty gives me loves, she CANNOT resist givin this mic a little nibble. If she breaks it, at this price I will surely buy another. It's made a big improvements in my recordings for sure. The cord is pretty dang long too - not sure how long since I've never unraveled it but rather stuff the rolled up cord into my pocket since I never need it more than a foot or so. One downside to it, and this might just be me or my phone, is that it causes the speaker to go mute once it's plugged in to my phone. I thought I'd try to use it during a hands free phone call to show my daughter how good it sounded but I couldn't hear anything with it plugged in. I can't hear the phone ring or anything. Not a deal breaker for me since I only use it for voice recording and/or videos but I thought I'd mention it in case it was a deal breaker for someone else. ... show more

    • Surprisingly Awesome: Long Cord, Good Sound [Used for Podcasting]
I bought this little mic when my ArsTechnica USB mic became unrecognizable by my laptops and I was waiting for a charger replacement for the one I use for editing. I needed to use my phone to record and wasn't ready to accept my Ars was really unusable now. This little mic had me at the first mic test. I wasn't sure if my daughter had been paying attention to the documentary we were watching for her school work decided to have her pretend to be the expert explaining the topic to me. We used my Fire tablet and this little mic, pinned to my shoulder closest to her. We were both so excited when we listened to the audio afterward and realized how good it sounded. Then I realized that the cord was long enough to put under/through a shirt and use for Zoom meetings or presentations. It has two clips: the alligator one by the mic itself and a smaller plastic one that you can slide up or down the cord as needed to help wrangle the wire. Sadly, I messed up the audio quality when I tossed this in a backpack with a laptop, tablet, and some other day use items. You should be okay if you are mindful about the size and sturdiness of this little mic. It's small and plastic. If you want super-duper high-quality audio for ultra-professional projects, look for a different mic. If you want something reliable to use for daily tasks, for interviews on the go, or even to record a podcast from wherever you are, this little thing is a winner. ... show more

    • Least expensive best sounding of this type!
There’s several microphones of this style available. I’ve tested several. They range in the price between $10 and $20. This particular model actually sounded better and it was less expensive than the others. They work very well with the iPhone and better recording software like the one from iRig. The other thing I really like about them is that they seem to be shielded nicely. The Rode Go Wireless system he’s very picky about what mics are used with it because there seems to be and electric interference home from the power supply in it. For example, there are mics from JK that I really like but they fail miserably with this particular wireless system. Rode sells its own very nice microphone that can be used with the system but it is also eight times more expensive than the microphone Bing reviews here. This microphone and an adapter to make it usable with the Go system it’s not only cheaper but also brings a different sound flavor to the game. This can be useful just for the different sound it has or if you need to mic some thing and you might lose the microphone in the process (filming is sometimes crazy). Portable and smartphone cameras have become very high quality over the last few years. Sadly, many continue to shoot videos using the internal microphone in these devices. As as sound engineer I can confirm this is clearly the wrong approach to sound. Everyone needs a good lavalier microphone in their kit. This is such a microphone. This microphone sounds terrific, has a nice long cable for those doing Vlogging and related videos. But this one has features that I assure you are very important. 1. It has a nice padded case. The elements in these lavalier microphones are VERY sensitive, and you shouldn't be just tossing them in a bag or your pocket. They won't last very long that way. 2. The packaging is also important. They've used a resealable bag like used for some food items. I keep this microphone IN the case IN the resealable bag. Why? Because moisture is damaging for ALL microphones. If you keep them dry and away from humidity, they'll work better when you need them. 3. Nice windscreen makes the whole package unobtrusive. 4. Good usage tips on the bag - RTFM and learn how to use it properly! Great item. ... show more

This Lavalier (Clip-on) Mic is worth the low price! See below for YouTube Review Link Pros: Easy to use! Just plug-in and phone recognizes it as the mic so use apple adapter if you use a newer iPhone or if a newer android uses an adapter as well. Comes with Mic Windscreen, but not wind sock as it's more of a pop filter. Quality is really good; especially editing in audacity / sound software. Cable is long enough to fit in pocket hidden under shirt. Comes with a little bag to hold it, the clip is tough and isn't loose. Cons: Didn't come with the extension cable like noted and too much wind can really mess with it. In addition to that, a lot of movement can also distort sound. For a video overview check here!
