  • HOPING THE LOOK LAST A LONG TIME ON SOME OF MY PROJECTS
Ink Color: Gold
Advertised mainly as tombstone or gravestone acrylic ink but the uses for it go well beyond just that project. I think what makes it great for gravestone ink is because it's high quality and can take on weather elements. Gravestones take on a lot of weather-related wear and tear and so it's great for a pop of color, vibrancy, restoration, and quality over a period of time. I personally did not use these for that purpose, but for what I did I am hopeful I could see long lasting results and for now I am seeing something of good quality and durability. Works amazing on granite and stones of any kind and from what is advertised it also can work on marble but I have yet to try that. It's definitely a future project so I am looking forward to that. I have stone in my restroom as far as a decorative fixture on my restroom sink as well as some decorative pieces I have outside and I needed some restoration for them. Quality of the formula is good. It's thick enough that I can freely give sufficient applications without needing to go over things multiple times. That all depended more on my preference than a necessity. Also, it was not so thin that it left any dripping messes. Of course, it's expected that it could drip as any paint can so caution and patience is required but it's user friendly, amateur friendly, and that's great for anyone that is attempting a project with these. I can't say that it is long lasting as I have only had this for weeks, but I am hopeful to see that this could give me results that can stay on strong for years to come. My decorations have a new vibrancy that I didn't think would be possible. I was really able to get into the details with the brushes and the texture of the paint. Stands out on light and even dark stone. The stone I use on my restroom sink takes on a lot of water erosion so now the stone has a pop of color to it that it lost years ago. My outdoor decor now look sophisticated and with a shine of color that I can see from far enough that it's noticeable. Easy to use. Always stay ventilated no matter what. Easy to clean up. Works well. Beginner friendly. A good amount of product. Brushes are of standard quality. ... show more

  • Nice thick paint. Small amounts. Good metallic colors (black is silvery).
Ink Color: Black&Gold&White&Silver&...
The kit contains five paint bottles. Each bottle is not full, more like 3/4 or less full. They need to be shaken and even then I found it had to be shaken after a few minutes of painting. The bottles are a bit small so plan to use a lot. The colors are nice. But the black is not as black as I hoped - it is more a silver black. The metals are great colors. I tested these colors out on a wooden pole. My street numbers were faded and I had wrote the address in a pole - I wanted to clean that up and outline it. These worked great. But as I said the black was not as dark as I hoped. Also they are not as thick as the product photo shows. On the product photo they show some plants being mixed with the consistency of professional artist oil painting paint. This is not like that. This is more like thick house paint or something. That is okay as it is easier to apply. I did find some problems with the white paint had some chunks in it - not totally smooth. Although the color of the white was wonderful - a pearly color. The paints apply easily and fry fast. Make sure to mix it well and I found I had to stop and remix it halfway though as the glitter seemed to settle and the liquid separated a little. They are nice and did their job. Good paint. Great colors. Small amounts. My favorite part are the metallic colors (not the black). Although the black is reflective and shinny - if you like more of a silver metal black. ... show more

  • This product works exactly as advertised, I highly, highly recommend it!
Ink Color: Black&Gold&White&Silver&...
Where I live, there are family cemeteries on all the old ranches. They start with the early settlers and go on to the current time. My families headstones from the 1830s were almost unreadable due to weathering and would be lost completely in less than another decade. However, while I wanted these headstones restored, I wasn't going to trust a product I didn't know anything about and possibly ruin them, so my kids and I did a test. There is plenty of paint that comes in this kit. I wish there had been instructions, but we figured it out. We looked around the ranch and found a couple nicely shaped limestone rocks to uses as headstones in our pet cemetery, in use since 1980. We cleaned the limestone, then sprayed a clear coat I'd gotten for painting rocks. While that dried, we decided which two pets to use and planned out what we would put on the stone. I lightly penciled the writing, then̈ after shaking the paint, very well, I painted the test rocks. The consistency of the paint was quite good, no clumps and not too thick or too thin, no running. We tried each of the colors and they are very, very pretty. They dried completely over night. There was no flakeing, no drip lines and the coverage was very good. I waited a little while to see how it would hold up in the weather and so far the test rocks have done well in heat, cold, rain or dry. I did my family headstones and because I'd cleaned them very good first, they look brand new. Just adding back the emphasis of the letters makes them look more dignified. This summer we are going to finish the pet cemetary. The first two were fun, remembering our first dog and cat. It actually looks nice, and if you have the room, your kids and grandkids will benefit. It's a good time to discuss death, burial, loss. ... show more

  • Good not Great
Ink Color: Black&Gold&White&Silver&...
I paint rocks and oyster shells. My oyster shells are sold at an island store at a premium price so I need to make sure what I use is worth the price customers pay. I was looking for a new gold and silver paint. Pros: easy clean up (with soap & water), no smell, a nice consistency and it comes with brushes although I didn’t think they were very good. Cons: it needs more than 1 coat if you are working on a large surface, the gold color was a bit weird (I loved the Bronze) and Silver didn’t seem very sparkly. This may be a good headstone option but for oyster shells I’ll keep looking. ... show more
