I suppose I decided not to knock the rating for making some whiny staticy noise that it picks up from the phone. My phone has a 3.5 Jack and I like that you could just plug it in and be on your way and pull it out when you're done. Before this I bought a set of wireless ones for 60 bucks and they sounded pretty good with noise canceling off, but I decided to return them as they made a lot of staticy noise and the receiver plugged in to the USBC port. But I use a magnetic adapter and magnetic charging cables and I don't want to be unplugging that thing all the time. So I went with a cheaper single wired mic and it does make some whiny static he noise more or less depending on the situation I guess....... I did find that if I touch my finger on the magnetic adapter it grounds out the charge port and the noise completely goes away so I sort of have a fix. But my real fix for making video live is using a good noise canceling option on the OBS software. And if I were to make a video with my phone I could either have my finger on that magnet but I don't have to really worry since I found a good app that has noise canceling and you run the video through it and it doesn't seem to touch your voice at all and works really well. So I suppose I can't fault the previous wireless set too much because I could have done that with that set but that was before I dug into it. But nevertheless I like that there's no batteries or charging or anything like that to worry about so I like that it's wired and I picked these up because my phone has that 3.5 Jack and I don't have to unplug my magnetic charging adapter. The sound quality works well using the camera app on the phone to make a video or recording app. It does sound clearer and more upfront and a little louder if you speak directly into it about 8 inches or a foot away compared to a clipping it on your chest. It'll basically sound as good as an expensive desktop mic when you do it like that. But it does have the clip and option to clip it on your chest and it's on a magnet and the mic can rotate. The pop filter it comes with does help reduce those p sounds as I did test it myself. It comes with a couple spares also. One thing maybe that they could do is throw in just one of those big puff ball things for the wind as an option. That would be nice to have that in the kit also to complete it. I don't have any complaints with the sound quality it sounds good and a whole lot better than just using your built-in phone mics. To me it's not a fair comparison to have this thing clipped on your chest and then compare it to an expensive mic that your mouth is 3 in away from. If you get the distance right and speak directly into it this thing sounds just about as good as those mics too. It picks up the low end really well and has a pretty full sound to my ears. It does come with an adapter for computers and whatnot but maybe at that point if you're doing something on a desktop just get a dedicated desktop mic. But this works great with the phone and running it through a noise canceling app if needed or as I've used the obs software with Droid OBS to use your phone as the webcam, that software has a good filter without messing up your voice and making it sound robotic. I'm not sure if anything exists that plugs into your mic whether wireless or wired that won't make any kind of static key noise that it picks up from your phone. That is without noise canceling feature turned on with those mics. Yes with it turned on it will get rid of that but a lot of the mics with it turned on seem to sound robotic so I'm okay with doing it the way I'm doing it using something separate besides a built-in noise canceling feature. Maybe some of the more expensive ones have better noise canceling that sounds natural without messing up your voice. Has a side note you can use this for Starmaker too lol....... You have to get the distance right if you get louder and move it further back though or else it distorts. That's not the case when using a recording app on your phone or taking a video with your phone then it works great. It seems to depend on the browser using your phone whether it's going to be tuned right for something like this. I had trouble using this mic through something like streamyard doing mobile. Something with the Google browser doesn't seem to be tuned right and it distorts really easily if you get louder and have to have the mic really far away not to distort. But then it sounds like you're far away. I can't blame the mic for this at all though. This is something to do with mobile browser not being tested properly and making it work properly with a plug-in mic to your phone. I can't say if it would be the same with a wireless lapel mic. Probably. But once again it sounds great using your phone to take a video with this mic or a recording app from your phone, then it doesn't have those problems. It also sounds great using OBS droidcam with your phone as the webcam and the mic plugged into your phone. This test was streaming the OBS to YouTube on a computer and my phone as the webcam and the sound.
