superior customer service and excellent product! When I got my set the shears were fantastic. If you have never used professional shears before, be warned these have precision blades and are sharp like razors. Do not let children anywhere near them. That said, they are a dream for cutting hair. The thinning shears I first received had a slight warp at the very end of the blade which made the teeth catch. Mike was so great in assisting me. Even though these come in a set, he was able to get me a single replacement for the thinning shears only and was I able to use the plain shears without having to return and reorder a complete set. The replacements thinning shears are flawless and excellent quality too. If you are looking for pro quality shears and thinning shears at an affordable price get this set, and if you order from this seller you will not be disappointed in their customer service if you happen to have an issue as I did. These are excellent scissors!! It was my mistake not to look at the size of the finger holes as my hands are large. That aside, they are perfect. They cut like razors and have nice rounded ends for safety. Also they are in a nice case. With Covid isolation, I had to cut my hair myself, and I waited until I couldn't bear how shaggy it was. Turned out pretty well by following what I remember my stylist doing. Wet the hair. Use two large mirrors placed back to back and turn one a bit to be able to see the side and back - I found my arm kept getting in the way, but it was possible. It's hard to position when everything is in reverse, so imagine where your hand is with your eyes shut to work out what direction to move in. Then look at the mirror again. It gets easier with practice. I cut the edge at the lower back to a nice line first. Then trimmed by running my hand through the thick bits to raise the hair, holding small sections away from my scalp, and using the clipping scissors to cut near the ends. Take your time - do a little bit each cut and regularly run your hand through to raise the hair again. Feel the thickness to help decide what needs cutting. Gravity helps if you tilt your head and get the damp hair to stick out so you can see what's too long. Next I did the same procedure using the thinning shears. Be sure to cut nearer the ends. I took another shower to get my hair wet again, and tidied the cut up. That included cutting a nice edge around my ears and thinning the bit to either side of my forehead. Well, I'm certainly no pro, but it looks surprisingly decent and it feels a heck of a lot better then it did.

The scissors are very sharp! Much lighter weight than i expected but that is not a negative, just an observation. The thinning scissors are a great help in blending when using electric shears. I have never cut my own hair, but all salons are closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My bangs were getting so long, and I am homebound because I am high risk. For the price, I thought, why not at least try? I really liked the way the shears fit in my hand. I especially liked this set came with thinning shears! I wear my bangs in a side part, so I need a little thinning to avoid a flat head look, LOL. I did a pretty good job trimming my bangs. I watched several YouTube videos, and I decided to use the twist method. I used a fine tooth comb to hold the twisted hair, and I snipped beneath the comb. The trick is yo take off very little at a time. Thd thinning shears worked great, but I didn't watch any videos on how to use. I will do that next time to ensure I am getting the best advantage. Using these scissors and some videos allowed me to do something at home I fely unequipped to do. Now, I plan on trimming my own bangs and only going to a salon for a full haircut. Thanks for providing these shears at a great value! I now have more confidence and may be trimming up my husband's hair next!

These are the best shears that I've ever used, and they are perfect for cutting all hair types. Customer service is excellent. There was a minor error in the first package I received (I received two pairs of normal shears instead of one thinning shear and one normal shear) but as soon as I contacted the owners, they exchanged them for me immediately at no extra cost to myself. I was pleased to work with them, and if I ever need anything else for my home barber efforts I am going to ShearGuru first. The shears themselves are sharp, sturdy, and I personally like that they have some weight to them. The weight makes it easier to give a steady cut without any jagged lines. (Yes, skill is a factor as well, so keep that in mind.) I use these to cut my husband's hair, trim my own, and I even taught him how to cut mine. We have almost opposite hair types, his being coarse and thick, while mine is fine and thick (thick in quantity not strand thickness), but the shears are fine for both of our needs.

Immediately upon picking the scissors up I saw the finger holes were too small. Good heavens, why? I have an ordinary set of female fingers, not small or large. Why not have larger holes for handling the scissors properly? I'll bet a lot of people are having the same problem and don't use the scissors in the end, because they are hard to maneuver. I got the scissors set--straight and texturing scissors--with the idea of starting to texturize my own hair; I already do a lot of maintenance cutting. I've met only a few hairdressers that are really good at cutting my super-thick, short Caucasian hair, so I want to start fiddling around with texturizing to thin out my bulky hair. I'll use these good-quality scissors to learn with, but they won't be my final set of scissors, since I'll look for some that are easier to insert my fingers into.Thanks, though, for the material quality and the interest in customer feedback.
