  • LIFE. CHANGING.
Size: 37.0"L x 25.3"W x 33.8"H
This cage is absolutely everything I wanted it to be. Ok. Time for some backstory. My dog is a lil complicated. Her name is Fiona, she is a 60+ lbs bullypit with a rough past that I took in off the streets and she has SEVERE thunderstorm/loud noise anxiety. This terrible fear of loud noises has caused her to freak out and start eating walls, trim inside and outside, and absolutely destroy her wire cage. It was like a Kong cage. Last straw was when I came back home after a thunderstorm and she was left alone, she almost ate through my bedroom door. There was a pile of shavings mixed with saliva and blood from her hurting herself trying to get into my room (she thinks I am in there). She also likes to poop/pee on the floor when I am not looking. (sometimes when I am looking, too 🤷♀️.) In additon, she is HIGHLY aggressive/fiercely protective of me, which makes having guests over a real problem. She has problems, ok? Anyway, I had dreamed of a cage that she could not get out of. Ideally, one she wouldn't even TRY to get out of. It would change everything... No more coming home to a destroyed house, or sticking her in the closet/bathroom so she wouldn't murder the company, coming back to poop and pee everywhere, etc. It got to the point where I basically kept a towel in the washer for the pee. Sometimes it would be a streak for days that that was the first thing I did in the morning was go and clean up her nastiness off my floor. Felt and smelled like it was a barn I was living in and not my house.. ANYWAY, I got fed up (putting it lightly, I was really at my wit's end) and went for it. I bought this ProSelect cage, honestly not knowing how it was going to turn out. I was worried I was spending a bunch of money on another cage she would simply destroy, but I had no other options. Literally none. Not even rehoming her, since she is a homicidal lil critter and I could NEVER rehome her in good conscience. Plus she isn't just any homicidal critter, she's my homicidal critter, and I love her. This cage is everything I wanted. IT HOLDS HER. THE OTHER REVIEW PEOPLE ARE RIGHT, THIS CAGE IS SO STRONG THE DOG WILL LITERALLY GIVE UP AND NOT TRY TO ESCAPE AFTER ABOUT A WEEK. My house doesn't smell like pee all the time anymore. For whatever reason she was ok with going on the floor, but holds it for the most part if she is in her cage lol. Can't dirty up her own house I guess haha. This cage keeps her and the guests safe, which means everything to me. I know how you are feeling, person reading this review. I know what you're thinking, "yehhh ok so it holds YOUR dog, wont hold mine." PLS, JUST BUY THE CAGE. If it hold's my house-wrecking, cage-destroying, senile dumpsterfire of a pup, it WILL hold yours. I got the cage July 2nd, it is August 9th and I have had zero problems thus far. Very early on, she tried to escape and scraped a little tiny bit of paint. That's it. I know this cage is $300 bucks, but your peace of mind and sanity is priceless. This cage will restore both. Set up was super easy, btw. I did it on my own. And the wheels lock in place, so the cage won't roll all over the place. Delivery time was QUICK. Yona even likes it, she RUSHES to get into sometimes lol, I think it makes her feel secure. AND it looks kinda nice, to boot. EDIT: It's 9/7/21 and it is still holding up perfectly, no problems at all. ... show more

  • This crate is EVERYTHING.
Size: 37.0"L x 25.3"W x 33.8"H
I never, ever review things, but this crate is something special. We have an almost 4 year old American Pit Bull Terrier named Clementine who hates being crated. She was introduced properly, exercised beforehand, and always left with stuffed Kongs and deer antlers to entertain her, but she just doesn't want to be contained. She has Shawshank Redemptioned her way out of 8 airline crates and 3 wire crates. We tried reinforcing them with zip ties (she ate them), caribeaners (she knows how to work them), and combination locks (she knows how to hit them so they pop right open). If the door was blocked, she chewed a hole in the roof and shimmied out. For a time, we even tried locking a smaller crate inside of a bigger crate, but we came home and found her on the couch, eating an entire jar of peanut butter she had stolen from the cupboard. We considered her uncontainable and decided to give her freedom; she ate a wall, ripped pictures out of their frames, and dumped an entire container of vegetable oil on our couch. Enter the ProSelect Empire Cage. This thing is PHENOMENAL. I'm pretty sure she'll break all her teeth before she even bends the bars. It's heavy as hell but easily movable when the wheels are unlocked. Unlike every other wheeled product I've ever assembled, the brakes are actually quality, so there's no moving it to tip it over. It has a handy little pull out tray so I can easily clean up her food remnants. Some are concerned about the grated flooring. It's probably not comfortable. If your dog won't destroy a little dog bed, you should probably put one in, but let's get real; you're probably not buying this crate for a dog who doesn't eat things he or she isn't supposed to. It's not going to kill them to hang out on that grate. The bars are close enough together that an adult dog's feet aren't going to slip through and get caught, but I would suggest keeping their nails trimmed so they don't get caught in the bars. Also, if you have a puppy or a cat who like to explore your bigger dog's crate, please shut the door when it isn't in use. Little feet could possibly get caught in the grate, and broken legs make for expensive vet trips. Clementine is a 55 pound American Pit Bull Terrier, and she has room to spare in the medium crate. She can fully lay down, stretch out, roll over, turn around, hokey pokey, WHATEVER in this crate. The only downside of this crate is the deadbolt latches. They're actually really sturdy, but Clementine's a very bright dog and could figure out how to push down and slide them quickly. This is easily fixed with a few $0.99 caribeaners for dogs who don't know how to operate them. For Clementine, we used a few lengths of chain and a few Masterlocks. She's not getting out until we let her out. ... show more
