Description

Pro-Ject's belt-driven Elemental turntable provides arguably the best value to performance ratio found in the entry-level audiophile industry today. It's stylish and svelte plinth design is mass-loaded with a disc of artificial stone which gives it similar resonance-dampening characteristics as tables twice it's size. The polished stainless steel platter spindle is cradled by a machined bronze bushing with a Teflon base layer to reduce friction and virtually eliminate any bearing rumble. The 8.6" low-mass aluminum tone arm is mounted with an Ortofon OM5E moving magnet cartridge that is pre-aligned and pre-balanced so you can start listening to your collection as soon as possible. The gold-plated RCA plugs and cartridge pins ensure that the audio signal is passed cleanly and without compromise from the record groove to your system and out through your speakers. Available in matte red, white, or silver with black accents, the Elemental turntable from Pro-Ject is the easiest way to plunge into high-end audio and help reveal what has been missing from your vinyl playback.

  • amazing value
Color: Gray & Black Style: w/USB output
This is just an amazing turntable for the price. It looks as stylish (or even more so) as many $1000+ audiophile turntables. It's simply beautiful. The sound quality is fantastic with the included cartridge. Crisp treble and full-bodied bass response. I purchased this because it was the only affordable turntable that can fit on a very small bookshelf without hanging off the front. The USB version has a built-in phono preamp making connection simple as many modern receivers don't have a phono stage input. The preamp is noiseless, at least in my system, even without connecting the included ground wire. The only significant issue as others have mentioned is that the belt slips off easily if you accidentally snag it when removing a record. Otherwise, it stays put (it's simple to put it back on though if it comes off) Note to manufacturer: why not just cut a shallow groove around the edge of the platter for the belt to fit into? Or, make the belt flat (the included belt is round like an o-ring). Either of those simple modifications would completely resolve the issue of the belt slipping off. The only other minor issue is there is no dust cover, but the design of the unit would make it tough to design any kind of cover that wouldn't look really tacky. I would give 6 stars if possible - an almost unbelievable value for the shockingly low price. ... show more

  • Fantastic budget ‘table—EASY setup
Color: Gray & Black Style: No USB
I read the reviews that say this is hard to setup, and I’m baffled. Super-easy, just pull out two shipping blocks and add the belt. Done. This is an entry-priced manual turntable with a budget cartridge. It’s dead silent, no hum/buzz as can often happen with neon, dimmers, or appliances (I have all 3 in the same room). Tracking seems good, but it skates a little at the beginning of records. Being budget, the sound quality is very good but not as good as the next couple of steps up. That said, it’s so good for the price that you have to step way up. Instead of doubling the price of the turntable, buy a record vacuum and you’ll get better sound. It’s so lightweight that it's prone to moving when you touch the plinth. I may add some BluTac to the base to keep it steady. This is a great budget table, and one I’ll recommend to anyone. And it shipped FAST and I’m a happy listener. ... show more

  • Mostly Great turntable! Value is incredible. Couple key issues
Color: White Style: No USB
I loved this turntable for many reasons. But, In the end, I did have to return it. I’ll probably be upgrading to a nicer project turntable after not too long here. The elemental is entry level - and has amazing value - but it does suffer from wow and flutter problems and pitch issues, as well as a slightly weak belt. Overall I think with a good pre amp ( sold separately) this thing absolutely shreds at the price!! Just watch out for wow and flutter and treat the components delicately. ... show more

  • Ideal for limited space availability
Color: Red Style: No USB
If you have limited space available to place the turntable it is ideal. A great talking piece.

  • etc are nicely balanced. Plus
Color: Red Style: No USB
Opening the packaging, I was a bit skeptical. The base is extremely light, the belt is insubstantial, even the cue arm looked way too flimsy. I was wrong - book by it's cover, and all that. The timing on this TT is spot on, the mechanics are very quiet ( zero rumble), the hallow tonearm is evenly weighted, and the cartridge, stylus, etc are nicely balanced. Plus, this TT just LOOKS cool as hell! And at $220, it's not a a major budget killer. I've paired it with a Mani preamp, an NAD 3020D amp, and Wharfdale Diamond 10.1 speakers. Rockin' I highly recommend this project TT. ... show more

  • Great Turntable
Color: Gray & Black Style: No USB
We love our Pro-Ject Elemental turntable! It has an extremely minimalist appearance which gets commented on all the time. The unit is easy to set up and works rather easily out of the box. The band that turns the table is a bit touchy but as you get use to the unit you don't touch that as much as you do the first couple of times changing a record. Total setup time was about 5 minutes as you have to put a couple things together and connect to a pre-amp. It would have been nice to have a dust cover but not the end of the world. It has a great appearance, great sound and great conversation starter. ... show more

  • beautiful
Very nice, very simple starter turntable...Perfect for my neophyte needs. I'd give it 5 stars, but the packing materials are pieces of styrofoam that shifted around during shipping (shippers never honor the "this side up" labeling!) I'd be happy to pay extra for a box that used cardboard, particularly I would have loved it be shipped in a box I could keep and pack my turntable back into when not in use or when I want to take it to a friend's house. (Pro-Ject, consider redesigning your turntable packaging; or consider selling a separate case for storing these little wonders!) ... show more

  • OK turntable but not the total bargain you may be hoping for
There is nothing wrong with this particular model. However, as far as I can tell there is no cover for sale here or anywhere else in the US. (model Pro-Ject Cover it E [...]For a budget turntable that is for my office, there is no way I am going to spend $250 for a premium TT cover. It is cheaper to get one of the higher Pro-ject models that has an integrated cover and you will get better performance from the larger plinth. Plus the cover (if you can find it) is the same rectangular form as other aftermarket covers but only fits corner-to-corner. So if you had hoped to set up the Elemental with the plinth going straight from left-to-right, then the cover is going to be oblique and strange looking. ... show more
