  • The Gold Standard for Home Arcade – Versatile, Sturdy, and Seamless
The Bottom Line: Whether you are looking for a simple plug-and-play solution for your TV or a high-end controller for a custom PC-based arcade build, the Legends Gamer is the best in its class. It’s built like a tank, connects effortlessly, and offers the kind of versatility that retro gamers dream of. Unmatched Versatility: What sets this apart is the flexibility. You can use it as a standalone system with the included puck plugged directly into your TV for an instant arcade experience. However, I’ve taken it a step further by integrating it into a custom retro gaming rig. I have it connected directly to a PC running Launchbox/Big Box, and the integration is flawless. It’s recognized as a high-quality controller immediately, making it the perfect centerpiece for a dedicated home cabinet. Performance & Build: • Lag-Free Gameplay: While the wireless connection is great for casual play on the couch, I prefer connecting it directly via USB to my PC for a completely seamless, lag-free experience. In fast-paced games like Donkey Kong or Super Mario Kart, that precision is vital. • Arcade-Quality Sturdiness: This isn't a lightweight plastic toy. It’s a heavy, professional-feeling deck that stays put during intense sessions. The joysticks have a satisfying click, and the buttons are responsive and durable. • Seamless Connectivity: Switching between the standalone puck and the PC setup is incredibly easy. It’s a "best of both worlds" piece of hardware. Pros: • Dual-mode functionality (Standalone or PC Controller). • Rock-solid build quality that handles aggressive gameplay. • Large, comfortable deck that fits two players without feeling cramped. Cons: • It’s a large unit, so you’ll need a dedicated spot for it (like the stand in my photos), but that’s the price you pay for a true arcade feel. Final Thoughts: If you want to build a custom retro arcade at home, you cannot go wrong with this. It’s reliable, feels authentic, and works perfectly with modern emulation software. It’s an investment that has completely transformed my gaming setup. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Complete waste of $300
The controller stopped working about 4 months after purchasing (which was conveniently after the warranty expired). When turned on for a while, it kept hitting random inputs on its own. Additionally, despite having bought a factory-new model, one of the buttons came with a deep scratch in it, and another would hardly work most of the time. One of the absolute worst things I've ever bought on Amazon, and I regret ever wasting my time and money on it. ... show more

  • Fun!
It took me a bit to get everything set up and going because I am not great at things electronic, but I got it and it works great so far. It's fun to play and takes me back to my teen years and going to arcades.

  • This thing is awful
I have had nothing but problems with this machine since I got it. I've spent more time trouble shooting this thing than playing it. Currently the usb cable doesn't work so I can't connect directly to the from the deck to the actual unit. Sometime the bluetooth doesn't pair so I'm stuck with no connection. I have had success using the deck only with my pc but again, no usb only on bluetooth. So it looks like I'll be using it with retroarch or some emulator like that. I feel like I could have bought only the deck without the actual unit as it is mostly unusable. Even when it sees the bluetooth connection it won't always connect, that's some terrible technology right there. And now I can't connect with the usb cable because it's just not recognized. Terrible machine I suggest do not buy. ... show more

  • Terribly slow and menu repeats fast
after 5min of each reboot, the menu just goes crazy and rapidly goes to left or right or randomly selects a game. No button presses or joystick use on my part. way too sensitive it seems. Plus is super super slow. Avoid this “green puck” version and get the newer “purple puck” version

  • Good controller, and great games
I ordered one a while ago & it arrived DOA, so I went through customer support, and they sent me a new one free of charge. That said, this includes 150 games built-in, mainly from Taito, with a few Jaleco games & Data East games. If you choose to, you can legally add game packs using a flash drive which includes more Data East games, pinball tables, and Activision games initially released on the Atari 2600. The controller is decent. I'd say slightly better than an arcade 1up controller, but there are better options. Still, I do recommend this product. ... show more

  • Nonsyncing garbage
The unit constantly drops the controller. You sync them, try to find a game, but they drop before you can get there. We specifically got it for the roller ball controller paired with Centipede, Millipede, and Tempest. All listed, non are there. In fact, other than space invaders, all of the games are no name trash. 15 pages of 8 games. Not as many as claimed. If you want more, cough up $60 a month. Best to get some sort of console. ... show more

  • Well built controls. Slight lag. Good system for the price.
Well built but seems to have a very slight lag while playing games. May be due to the Bluetooth or possibly from my TV processing. Overall It’s a good unit for the money.
