Used this printhead cleaning kit on my old HP 8620 that wouldn't print properly anymore. Followed YouTube instructions for cleaning and after two rounds, it works again! The instructions for using this kit are not as helpful as the YouTube. And I couldn't get the rubber tube to connect to the syringe. Without that, the syringe won't take in or dispense the cleaning fluid. I ended up using a convoluted combination of the adapters to make it work. At the end of the day, it was a messy job but the printer works again, so I'm very happy. ... show more

Used this on my wife's HP OfficeJetPro 6978, which had a clogged black ink head (zero black ink printing) due to seldom use. Printer utilities failed to free the clog, as did alcohol. After shutting off the power button, then disconnecting power cord, I slid the carriage over, removed the black XL cartridge, placed a folded paper towel in the carriage track, then slid the carriage gently over the paper towel. I drew 4 ml into the syringe with the plastic tube attached, then attached the elbow and the larger, clear plastic nozzle. This nozzle should snap onto the head. Gently inject the fluid through the head, with the paper towel catching the ink-colored fluid. As recommended, I waited an hour, then repeated. Remove the paper towel. Reinstall the ink cartridge, reconnect power, hit the power button. Once the printer is done with its normal start-up routine, go to Set-up>>>Printer Maintenance>>>Clean Printhead. This function will do a final clean of print heads and print a test page. Mine was successful. If not, let sit overnight and try again the next day. ... show more

I used this product on a Brother MFC-J985 printer. The written instructions included in the box didn’t really apply to my printer but luckily there are plenty of videos on You Tube that helped. Also in the box was a pair of gloves that I highly recommend that you use as this is a messy chore and you will get ink on your fingers and hands. I had only 2 heads that needed to be cleaned and the entire process took about 2 hours due mainly to the fact that I had to watch You Tube. I could probably clean the 2 heads in about 45 minutes now that I know what to do. All in all the product worked and the heads are clean as shown by the built-in utility of my printer. I have enough cleaning solution left for another cleaning if and when I need it. I would probably buy the same kit again if I ever need to. I gave it 4 stars due to the lack of instructions for my model of printer. ... show more

The soap may be great, will find out in about an hour. The kit may fit every other printer great, but it is difficult to use with a Brother MFC-J5330DW. Two reasons. First is the 90 degree elbow is not the best shape to access the port. Although it is usable, a straight adapter would make the connection easier. Second reason is the outside diameter of the little hose and the tip of the syringe are almost the same size. Be prepared to stretch the hose quite a bit to get it on the provided syringe or furnish your own better fitting syringe. Seller should consider excluding Brother MFC-J5330DW from the list of compatible printers or provide a better plastic adapter and better fitting tube. If they did that I would give them 5 stars and be willing to pay an extra 5 dollars to have something that is easier to use. ... show more

This was an adventure. I was successful in completely restoring a printer that hadn't been used for several years. The cleaning solution was very effective in dissolving the dried up ink. But getting the solution into the printer was the challenge. The items I received may work on some printers, but there was no way to make them work on this MFC-J6710DW without some intense "field modifications".
