  • Saved my xp-440!! Important tips for success:
My yellow print head on my Epson xp-440 was severely clogged (completely blank print). I tried every other less-invasive procedure I could find but nothing worked. Bought this fluid as a last resort thinking my printer might be toast, but it WORKED! The product came as described (100ml bottle, syringe, gloves, instructions). Felt a little small for the price, but considering it saved me from buying a new printer, it's worth it. It is very important that you follow the instructions and watch some videos for your specific modal of printer before giving it a try. Print heads are very complex and delicate, if you inject with too much force you can burst the print head tubes and permanently damage your printer. And if you drip fluid all over the inside of your printer you could cause a short circuit. You must be extra careful, clean and patient. This is not a 10 minute fix; expect to spend a good weekend on it. Important tips: 1 - If you can, only remove the ink cartridge of the color you need to clean. If you need more space to access, remove all the cartridges, fit the syringe tube over the right color, then put the other ink cartridges back. It takes a long time to inject the fluid (at least it SHOULD if you’re doing it right), during which the other ink nozzles will start drying out if they’re exposed to the air for too long, causing more clogs. This happened to me but it’s not too hard to fix, just have to use some more fluid. 2 - When injecting, use BABY pressure. Even slower than is shown in videos online (where they are usually using brand-new clog-free printers for show). It should almost look like the handle isn’t moving, THAT’s how slow. The nozzle tubes inside the print head are miniscule; if you think about the physics, even a tiny amount of pressure on the syringe handle becomes exponentially more pressure inside those tiny tubes. So have PATIENCE. 3 - I layered a paper towel strip and two strips of watercolor paper (because it’s what I had) as my “blotting paper”. Worked well to catch the mess. 4 - Warm up the fluid per instructions. Makes a big difference. -Finally, this is how I cleaned my print head: Filled the syringe with 4ml of warmed cleaning fluid. Then gently fit it over the yellow ink inlet (the one that was clogged). With BABY pressure, I injected a tiny amount of fluid, just enough to get it into the print head. Then I left it attached like that for about 3 hours total. I came back every half hour and gently worked the syringe handle (pushing and pulling), slowly injecting a little more fluid every time until the whole 4ml were used. I then replaced the blotting paper and repeated the process with about 3ml of fluid. Once finished, I cleaned up the inlet area with a que tip, replaced the ink cartridges and let my printer sit for another few hours before turning it back on and running a test print. It’s important to let your printer sit for some time after cleaning for a couple reasons (1) to let the remaining juice inside the print head do its thing, and (2) to give any possibly missed drips of fluid/ink inside your printer time to dry out before you start running electricity through the machine (precaution to avoid short circuits). After all this, I had to run a cleaning cycle only once for my yellow to show up perfectly! Very happy with my purchase! ... show more

  • Follow the instructions, works well, if slightly messy.
I admit, I was skeptical if this would actually work. It arrived, in a plastic shipping envelope, well sealed. In the box, you get the fluid, syringe, and manual, as pictured. Following a video I watched earlier, which inspired me to buy this, I performed the cleaning. I am pleased to announce, it did actually work, to make my Epson XP-440, function again. Before this cleaning, only the yellow and cyan would print. A word of preparation and recommendation is to not force the fluid through the print head, as I heard on the video, and in other words, states in the instructions. It's not a fire hose force needed. GENTLY push on the syringe, making sure the tube is over the ink nozzle. I held the tube with my other hand to ensure it didn't pop off while pushing the cleaner through. Under the print heads, I slipped two sheets of paper strips to catch the cleaner and ink discharge. I should have used more like four straps, cut about an inch and a half wide. I was told 20mm on the video. But definitely use at least three strips, and make sure they come across the whole print head, out the other side. I filled the syringe, but did not end up using but about 2/3 of what was in the syringe. I put the rest back in the bottle for future possible use, made sure the bottle was capped tight. Once done, draw out the paper strips carefully, they will be wet and messy with ink. If you have latex or nitrile gloves, I suggest wearing them to keep ink off your hands. Have a trash can or bag at the ready to toss the inky, wet straps out, watch for drips. Paper towel around where the track is, where the head is sitting, to the right of the carriage, and blot the area, a few times. I then gently blotted inside the cartridge carriage, around the nozzles to clean up excess fluids. Using too much fluid, you risk getting it in the circuitry. Avoid that, definitely. Follow the instructions, take your time, and be patient. Those are key. The fluid in the bottle should be warmed, by using hot water in a small bowl, set the main body of the bottle in the hot water to warm up about three minutes before you start. I used faucet hot water, which, if it's about 115 degrees or slightly better, should do well. Do not microwave the bottle of solution. Again, follow the instructions, and you'll do fine. It does work to clear clogged print heads. Though a bit messy, worth the $13 I spent to have my printer back. ... show more

  • It works
I got this flush kit for my Epson Workforce all-in-one printer/scanner. The print began streaking one day and the more I tried to fix it, the worse it got until all colors would no longer print anything. So, I gave this kit a try and Bam! I flushed the heads once and got immediate results on all heads. They weren't perfect yet. But, they were at least working again. I tried a few more times, also applying the tips in the manual, like heating the solution and reversing the pressure a few times. Eventually, most all of the streaks went away. I now just have minor streaking and splatter from the black head. I suspect this might be dried ink on the outside of the head, which this kit wasn't designed to address. But, a Q-Tip, a drop of the solution, and a lot of luck at blindly finding the head should do the trick. Update (24 hours later): As for the planned Q-Tip procedure, it was a really tight fit, even for just a Q-Tip. But, it did allow me to find and remove the suspected cluster of dried ink. So, the black-splatter problem appears to be resolved along with less streaking. I still have only 5 black nozzles left to unclog (yeah - so good I can count the bad ones left). About 1.5 dozen yellow nozzles and most of the cyan and magenta nozzles are clogged again. So, it could be something wrong with the capping station (the part that keeps the nozzles from drying out) for the color nozzles. Update (1 week later): I gave the color print-head another two good flushes, with some extra soak-time for the troublesome magenta. Voila! Nearly perfect. The rest will probably work themselves out the more the printer resumes use. ... show more
