  • Can't Do Better At This Price!
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
Pros: Excellent glass, reticle design is perfect, solidly built, easily passed the 'box test', has a cool spare battery compartment in the turret cap, easy to turn magnification ring, and (contrary to earlier reviews) the reticle is very bright even during the day. Cons: Cheap flip caps, windage dial clicks not as crisp and defined as other scopes, the lowest illumination settings are barely usable, and the lack of parallax adjustment makes repeated precision shots at 4-6 power a bit challenging. You need to be directly behind the scope. Overall this is a solid LVPO with a practical and effective reticle. I would purchase this optic again without any reservations! ... show more

  • Great optic for the price.
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308 with 30mm Deluxe Mount
Eyebox is great at 1-3, okay at 4, and pretty small at 5-6. i guess thats common for lpvo, but mounted right it works great. ACSS Raptor reticle is amazing. best way to zero is at 25 yards for 100 yards, then move to 100 to fine tune it. use 1/4"/moa targets for easy adjustments. find your coeffecient. for example, 55g 5.56 out of a 16 inch barrel should have a POI roughly 1.89~ inches below the POA at 25 yards on a 100 yard zero. ... show more

  • Best VPO on the market. Inexpensive doesn’t mean cheap quality
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
I’ll start with the good first. Eye relief: this optic has a solid 3 to 5 inches of usable a relief which is great for quickly acquiring the ACSS. Easy to use turrets with a nice tactical “click” to them. At the 1 power it has a great field of view. The ACSS is simple to use and doesn’t clutter the sight picture to much. Zeroed extremely easy at 100yd. My one complaint. The light on the reticle even at 11 during the day is a bit dim. Shooting out doors in the Florida sun it was a little hard to see. (Shooting black steel target) Over all I think this is a great optic that doesn’t break the bank. I plan on buying the 7.62x39 version in the near future for my SLR-107 ... show more

  • Incredible reticle, surprisingly clear glass, but weak illumination
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
The reticle is awesome!!! And the price point is incredible! The glass is surprisingly clear for a low cost optic, but the red illumination is quite weak. It is sufficient in some cases, but insufficient in others. I own quite a few different red dot optics, from the high-end expensive end of the spectrum to super inexpensive budget end. And all of them are significantly brighter than the illumination on this primary arms optic. On all of the other optics I am usually several clicks down from maximum brightness and only have to dial them up to maximum in rare situations. On this optic however, it is ONLY functional at maximum brightness... and even then do you wish it was even brighter. And in some circumstances it is completely useless, so I turn it off and just use the black etched radical in superbright situations. And yes, I have changed out the batteries to make sure they are brand new and I’m still having the issue. That is the only complaint I have about this optic. The brightness of the illuminated reticle is it’s achilles’ heel. But even then it is still a really really good optic, especially considering the price point. ... show more

  • Great bang for Buck
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
I am relatively new to rifle optics, so my opinion may lack foundation, but I can say that for the price this optic seems to cover all the necessary bases that a decent optic should have. I did a lot of shopping, and research before I bought an optic for my AR, and this is ultimately the one I landed on. The other options was nearly double the cost, with roughly the same features. In use it's great. Eye relief is very nice. I haven't had any issues with that at all from a variety of distances. It seems to hold zero. I've not had any accuracy issues after about 1k rounds with it, so it seems to hold zero well. All of that said, my favorite thing about it is the reticle. unlike other optics I examined this reticle changes with the zoom. When at 1x it serves almost more like a red dot. The marks are still discernable, but it really serves better as just a red dot at close, 1x Range. However, increasing magnification also increases the size of the reticle, and at 6 it's a full horseshoe with fully distinguishable hash markings and such. All in all, I think you would be hard pressed to find an optic at this price point, that offers the features and quality that this one does, that out shines this one. ... show more

  • Impressive!
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
Purchased this as a secondary optic for my rifle. I wanted a fixed 6x optic but went with this first focal plane scope instead. Magnification of reticle is linked to zoom setting due to the FFP. The etched reticle can be illuminated (red) or used without illumination for daytime use. A bit on the heavy side but that's expected for a scope of this size. ... show more

  • Very pleased.
Style: 5.56/5.45/.308
This scope is awesome! I used a laser plumb bob to paint the cross hairs on a wall in my house. Leveled and plumbed the AR, same with the scope. Tightened with 18" pounds. Sighting in at 100yards for zero. Probably the fastest set up I've experienced so far with zeroing in. No pics yet, and haven't taken it out past a hundred, but accurate and clear optics. I am very happy with my new scope. I have expensive set ups, all military style on my 4 other rifles. I am not sure that they have any advantage over this. ... show more
