Description

The Sceptre S8 two-way monitor combines an 8-inch low/mid-frequency driver and a 1-inch (25 mm), horn-loaded, high-frequency transducer into a single coaxial unit with aligned voice coils. Nothing beats the point-source properties and symmetrical sound field of a coaxial transducer but it takes a totally new approach with built-in Coaxial Speaker Coherence Alignment and Temporal Equalization technology that employs powerful 32-bit, 96 kHz DSP to fully realize coaxial’s potential. The result is clarity and coherence that has previously only been available in ultra-high-end systems. Add 180 watt, Class D biamplification; acoustic ports; a rich set of acoustic adjustments; and full speaker protection; and you have a new, affordable monitoring standard.

Co-Actual Monitor Design: Truly mind-blowing!
Style: S8 - 8 Inch LF Driver
Throughout the 18 years of DJing, I have scaled from budget monitors to now these; there's nothing like this for this price (or at least what I was able to pick them up under MSRP somehow). The monitor design is not only impressive, but the performance is truly something else! Being that I was able to save so much on these, I bought an additional subwoofer and run these in 2.2 The stereo imaging on these is truly something to experience! That said, these also can absolutely DUMP at higher audio levels (but should be careful considering the paper speaker design). Since acquiring these, my mixes have had tremendously increased in the mids and highs due to how due to how amazingly wide the sweet-spot is with these monitors. ... show more

sound bad and also not designed well
Style: S8 - 8 Inch LF Driver
The promise is that the TQ DSP would fix horn reflection, bit on these or doesn't. Audio Science Review tested these and they showed the horn reaction issues remained. Also, the horn material is a very resonant plastic and you can hear it in the low mids.

I bought these speakers a few years ago and they still amaze me. Great clarity. Astounding imaging. Real loud if you want, but very pleasing at any volume. Very flexible settings to tailor the sound to your room and your taste. Superb
