  • Entry level Hi-Fi speakers
Size: 6-Inch Speaker Style: Single Pattern: Studio Monitor
Equipped with integrated power amplification and a user-friendly DSP control on the back panel, this speaker effortlessly creates an accurate sound space in the near field without the need for additional sound calibration. The thoughtful design translates into great tonal performance in this price range. The low-end response stands out, offering excellence within this budget. While the high-end is slightly soft, that a well balanced system. It provides a comfortable experience during my extended music listening sessions. However, one minor drawback I've noticed is a subtle 'z' noise from the tweeters, which persists even when I turn off the input source. This seems a design issue and JBL let it pass the production test. Anyway, this hasn't been an issue for me as long as music is playing. ... show more

  • Amazing subwoofer to pair with JBL 308s! Must have if you're producing with a lot of sub bass.
Size: 10-inch Subwoofer Style: Subwoofer Pattern: Studio Monitor
I got mine for 25% off refurbished/used. I had a presonus monitor subwoofer before this and it just wasn't hitting the lows the way I wanted, rattled at low volumes even. I was actually thinking of returning it because I realized I impulsively bought this thing when I already have a sub. Once I plugged it in to at least try it, I knew I couldn't go back to the presonus. If you only have TRS cables you'll need to get an adapter for the output channels (XLR to TRW) . Input works with TRS or XLR. I have a pair of Jbl308 monitor speakers with my setup and these are the perfect pair and how it was meant to be. The crossover sounds so damn smooth after adjusting the boundary EQ accordingly. With those speakers the low pass on the subwoofer set to the lowest (80hz I believe) sounds best. The subwoofer works as a pre amp for the other monitor speakers. As soon as I swapped the presonus sub with this one immediately saw a HUGE difference with my jbl 308 monitor pair. It was much much clearer and louder. I did not even realize how much the presonus was diminishing the capabilities of the other monitor speakers in my setup. I am producing dubstep/edm and music where sub bass is very important and I need to hear the lowest lows without distortion or rattle. this thing has made it so much nicer to work on it. You can truly hear the sub bass very very clearly, allowing me to adjust the sub bass and add subtle textures/harmonics and really be able to mix/master and do sound design with ease especially with long sustainer sub basslines. Kicks sound absolutely amazing well. Before with the presonus I didn't get a real good feel for how percussion/kicks sounded... But with this you can really hear the subtle differences. I was worried it'd be too big to go under my desk but it fits better than the 8" presonus thanks to the higher placement of cable ports. No matter what you're making these are amazing speakers, but I think if you're making rnb or edm especially music with long sustained bass that needs to be sidechained with kicks, and fine tuned these are a must have. Don't go with a cheaper option, this is worth the extra money easily. ... show more

  • Keyboardists, Stop looking. This is the one you want!
Size: 6-Inch Speaker Style: Single Pattern: Studio Monitor
I wish I would have had this model as my first studio monitors. Clear, honest sound reproduction without any background noise issues! I have previously used Alesis 5” and Yamaha HS8 as my workhorse for reference and monitoring. Both have their pros and cons, but honestly the purity of sound you get from these JBL 6” has me hooked. GREAT job JBL! I have had no hiss nor other issues from these as I have had those issues in the past with the other branded powered monitors. Also the ability (if needed) to trim out too much low or high on the monitor makes them a keyboard musicians’ dream. All styles that I’ve played through them sound like it’s supposed to sound. Rich and clear; great midrange clarity with just the right amount of high and low to reproduce what I need to hear. The directional range for the tweeter is broad enough that I could even mount above my ear level and still achieve great monitoring. Again, stop looking and get these! Thank you JBL for a wonderfully engineered monitor here. ... show more

  • 6-Inch (306PMKII) Keep It Simple Stupid
Size: 6-Inch Speaker Style: Single Pattern: Studio Monitor
After months of research even going into tons of stores. I'll cut to the chase of my simple small setup that didn't cost a fortune. 2 - 6-Inch (306PMKII) I'm wondering what the 8's sound like 1- SMSL100 DAC Money well spent (Bluetooth, Fiber optics, and supposedly from other reviews I can add a subwoofer to the rca out.) Will update this in the future. Cables 2 - 25ft xlr cables I was tired of using boring rca cables 2 - power cables for the speakers Obviously included 1 - power cable for the DAC Obviously included 1 - Fiber optic cable from my tv to the DAC. Why? because I noticed a big difference in sound quality from using bluetooth since I have had these. Since August no subwoofer added to my system but I do plan on getting one eventually. That is all that I am using. No overpriced home audio equipment. I don't have thousands of wires running around my room or wall or cottage that I live in. I use two remotes one for the tv and one for the DAC. I can run my pc via Bluetooth to the DAC but recently I noticed a big difference in quality from using the fiber optic cable. So I run Amazon Music from my tv now(Settings set to HD and up quality in the app). I went with 25ft cables so I can move them around in my cottage with no problem. I have cranked this up full max and have not noticed much distortion. I do this on a Monday when the neighbors are at work and I pretty much have the grounds to myself. It gets loud and the bass is pretty intense. Subwoofer will be next and I'm not sure what I want to do with that. Either a JBL to pair it or to try a $100 compact sub a space savor and to learn from it. I listen to anything that doesn't suck so sorry to you mumble rap crap fans. Classic Rock to the 60's even real hip hop 2 Pac Ja Rule etc...... The speakers are crisp and just right. Klipsch was too tingy. Kef and others out of my price range but sounded incredible to but I wanted a simple small setup and this fit the bill. Pictures and video coming soon 1-20-2023 ... show more
