This is a great sharpener. It is very comfortable to hold, and feels solidly built. I like the two rubber spots on the bottom of the sharpener, helping it stay in place nicely when it is held on a table surface. I like that it has the three different degrees of sharpness on top, as well as the scissor sharpening area below. The more course sharpening area won’t be used often, as I would reserve that for blades that are in tough shape, understanding that this will remove more metal than the other more fine slots. I just did test this on one of my knives that was somewhat sharp, but not sharp enough, and for that reason I skipped the most course slot, started with the middle slot, and then finished with the most fine slot. This knife was definitely considerably sharper afterwards; this sharpener did a very nice job. I am attaching a photo of the sharpener I received as well as a photo of the instructions, which are fairly straightforward, even though the term they use for each of the slots is not the same as the label next to each slot, but it is clear enough. I will also note that the sharpener is attractive and that the handle area is a little more orange colored than the yellow color as it appears in my photo, just due to my camera and/or lighting. I hope some of this is helpful for you. This is a great sharpener. I like it.

This Respected Bro brand ceramic rod-type sharpener is a very good value for occasional use. It has 3 stages: coarse carbide blade style cutters plus medium and fine ceramic rods. There's also a fine rod for sharpening scissors. The handle is very protective and the bottom has non-skid grips. The entire unit is made pretty heavily of thick plastic with stainless around the sharpening slots, although the actual slots are lined with plastic. Having 3 grades of sharpening is a big improvement over the usual inexpensive single carbide sharpeners. The fine rods did a good job on touching up slightly dull knives. The carbide coarse cutters do well with cheap fast-dulling knives, but they do remove quite a bit of metal from the blades. Using all three I was able to get a decent, if not ideal, edge on some restaurant-supply paring and steak knives. The scissors sharpener does a very good job on touching up slightly to moderately dull scissors, especially ones used for cutting paper. 10 or so strokes, until the scissors feel very smooth going over the rod, make a huge difference in cutting. And this sharpener can be used for right or left handed scissors. I'm quite satisfied with the Respected Bro sharpener. It won't produce edges as sharp as professional sharpeners, but for ease of use and the price, it's very good.

I go through this sort of knife sharpener pretty fast, so I have experience with some of the subtleties in them. I haven't had this one very long, but long enough to appreciate it more than any that I can think of. Most that I have had have had two levels of coarseness/fineness. This one has three 'grits. And I do feel like I could tell a difference. But in addition to that, it has a scissor sharpener. I held out no hope of it being worth anything other than a marketing gimmick. I was wrong. I probably haven't quite perfected my technique on that chore, but even so, this tool really made a difference in the sharpness and usability of an old dull pair. As I said, I go through these fairly fast, so it remains to be seen how long it lasts, but it looks like it is going to be a really good one.

At first glance, I didn’t expect much from the Premium-Ceramic Knife Sharpener, but I was surprised. It did a decent job of bringing a sharp edge back to many of my kitchen knives, which I was considering replacing. For the price, it does an adequate job. One of my knives, the one I use all the time, took a bit more effort to sharpen, but it eventually got there. The sharpener is lightweight but doesn’t feel cheap. The handle fits well in larger hands, and the clear text indicating coarse, medium, and fine settings makes it easy to use. Overall, it's a versatile and practical tool for any kitchen.
