I really wanted someone with this style of cutting mechanism due to issues with my thumb. The reviews seemed promising. I did read one about it being too big for the users hand, but other said it was fine. Here's what I discovered - I am 5'9" with average woman hands. Yes, I can use these, but, I can not open them to their full width which is what I now realize the other review was referring to. As a taller than average woman (and matching hands) I probably lose 1/3 of the cutting width capacity because of this. Men - these are made for your larger hands. They seem well made except for the little mechanism in the middle that is meant to help cut. That's a flimsy piece of plastic while everything else seems nice. Of course, once this breaks, they will be useless. They also don't really seem all that sharp and I find myself needing 2 hands to cut larger pieces (in part due to not being able to open full width. Overall - Unless you are a man with large hands... find something different. These are not for you. I now need to find another pair that work for me :(

If you have a small hand, the blades only open about 1/4”. To open them wider, two hands are needed. Conversely, if you have a larger hand, I don’t think that the finger opening will fit. So, for people with small hands, they are good for trimming small branches, as yearly trimming of rose bushes. They are sharp and easy on the hand. I have a lot of rose bushes to trim, so won’t be sending them back. I’m glad that they were half price, as they live up to about half their claims.

These are GREAT CLIPPERS. Easy to handle. Very sharp. Fits my hand great. would suggest everyone purchase one they’re great to have around never know when you need them in the backyard. Catch a little branches are big branches great by.
