This product is a replacement for my brand name product which started leaking at the seals. It would either fail to get to vacuum and therefore never try to seal, or would take a very long time getting that last little bit, only to allow air to enter while sealing. No problem I think to myself, I'll order some replacement seals...as I did 3-4 times with my previous brand name sealer before. Only problem? The current $200+ sealer, had seals that were not replaceable! So now after just shy of two years with it, it was now trash and not repairable. Unacceptable! Honestly, I never liked the ergonomics of my replacement name brand model from the start. You had to hold the bag with both hands and press two corners of the start button at the same time. It was always a PITA. I'm glad my marriage to it is over. Now enter the Potane. The reviews were great, the product was smaller in footprint and attractive. The price was also less than half the name brand. Based on the reviews, support was easily accessible. Frustrated, I took a chance and ordered one. I can not be more pleased so far! No, it doesn't have a fancy bag storage area or bag cutter. It does, however, remind me of my first sealer that you could lock the lid to flatten or rearrange food in the bag before vacuuming and sealing. It's no frills, vacuums quick, and comes with a replacement seal in the box! I think it's both quieter and faster than my previous two brand names ever were. To summarize, it's worth the money to me so far. I'll only keep my old sealer around to store bags and use it's cutter feature to make bags for the Potane.

The Potane Vacuum Sealer Machine is an excellent addition to my kitchen, particularly in conjunction with my Sous Vide machine. I bought this as a replacement for a previous sealer. This one has worked well so far. Directions are easy to follow and it seems to be a good quality product. I do find that it heats up with extended use. We have consistently used it at least once a week since receiving it. So far so good.

The media could not be loaded. This is all you get, altho I'll not use anything but bags and it's nice to have an extra seal! I vacuum sealed peanuts , in shell as a test run, you could actually hear the shells cracking as air was vacuumed out. The roll of bags, cut to size, seal one end,, I have zero problems with this, plus they include a safety cutter, oh yea, one more thing, there's a small hole under side for cord storage, and be sure to push the lid release buttons on each end..y only complaint isyveyes isn't what they used to be, so, the letters is small for me,, once again, no problem, I'll use a magic marker to make them bigger,, GREAT PRODUCT! I LIKE IT

I was looking to replace my previous food saver and found this one to have good reviews so I ordered and received this one in April 2024. I got it and put it away as I didn't immediately need it. I finally used it two days ago (brand new out of the box) and started sealing chicken tenders, thighs, and wings. After about 30 minutes, I was preparing to move all of my sealed bags into my freezer when I looked at several of my bags and noticed air in them. So I ran my finger along the vacuum-sealed portion of the bag and noticed unsealed sections of the bag. I attempted to seal these bags again and was having the same issue. I wound up attempting to seal every bag two and three times each, flipping them over between seal attempts in order to get the bag to seal. I spent an hour doing what should have taken 25 minutes at best trying to seal these bags. In the end, I put some of my vacuum-sealed bags into Ziploc bags as a secondary measure so I wouldn't get freezer burn on my meat. I wish I could've returned this item but I was already outside of my return window. For the price, this product did not work as advertised.
