  • What to give a dog who is scared of squeakers?
A grunter! My new dog (a galgo from Spain) is just learning how to play with toys. She is deeply suspicious of anything that squeaks, but the grunting toys are (apparently) FUN FUN FUN. My older dog has never played with toys so watching a younger (possibly 4 year old) dog play has been extremely entertaining. This giraffe was instantly popular--the neck is a great handle for carrying as the body is just a bit big for long term toting around. For sizing comparisons, a galgo is the so-called 'Spanish Greyhound'--mine is a big galgo and is just a bit smaller than my small greyhound. Both are about 50# and of the needle nose habitus--I really can't figure out the similar weight as the galgo is about an inch shorter in every dimension except her neck. Perhaps it is just muscle mass as my greyhound is old, and used to weigh closer to 55# back in the day. In any case, if you have a dog much smaller and/or with a significantly smaller mouth, this may not work. But, for bigger dogs this is a good size. The only thing not really apparent in the picture is the face of the giraffe is yellow, which is odd, but the dog doesn't care. It seems quite sturdy though it would probably not stand up to a truly dedicated chewer/destuffer. Xena is more of a gnawer/carrier/tosser. Highly Recommended, JTG (on behalf of XTG, Xena-the-Galgo). ... show more

  • So far so good
I bought this for my 7mth old GR to replace this latex pig that made a grunting sound. The latex pig cost about the same as this giraffe but didn't survive a day as my dog chewed off his ears which meant that it stopped making the grunting sounds he love! My dog seemed to be fascinated with toys that make sounds beyond the normal squeak and one of his favourite toys is the Pet Qwerks Babble ball. I bought this to give the babble ball a rest as well as my marble floor since the babble ball is made of very hard plastic. So far this giraffe has part of his ears chewed off so I'm monitoring him very closely. I haven't washed this yet by hand but I've to be very gentle since the sound box is covered by a plastic bag. I won't be putting it in the washing machine as I did it before with another toy similar to this and it seems that the plastic bag is deflated after the wash and the sound doesn't come out as well as before. ... show more

  • It's a decent product.
This seems to be a decent product. I have a seven week old Jack Russell Terrier and I wanter to get something large enough for her to cuddle with. Needless to say, the right leg is now hanging off after only 5 days. Since the product is for a large dog, I thought it would be more durable and last a bit longer than 5 days. Nevertheless, my puppy is teething so I will give the product the benefit of the doubt. I may order another one in the future, when she is no longer teething. At that time I will know if the product really is durable or not. ... show more

  • Falling apart within the week
My tiny toy maltipoo had this coming apart at the seams with the week.

  • The squeaker makes a honking nose that is not as annoying as the normal squeakers companies put in dog toys
My dog, a German Shepherd/Husky mix, loves this toy. The squeaker makes a honking nose that is not as annoying as the normal squeakers companies put in dog toys. My dog loves to pull on the legs and neck. My friend's dog, an english setter also loves this toy. It is very unusual the setter finds a toy he likes to play with anymore now that he is getting older but he loves this one. He likes to carry it around, hold it in his mouth, and push his face into it on the floor so it squeaks. I buy a new one every time my GSD/husky finally rips off the legs and pulls out the stuffing. I will definitely buy this again. ... show more

  • Giraffe or Pig?
This toy is PRICELESS! You should have seen my face when my nearly eight month old Lab grasped this in his mouth the first time! I must have laughed for five minutes! It is actually a FUNNY sound, rather than that high pitched squeak that many fur babies' parents HATE! We have a few of those, too, but this pudgy giraffe makes more of a pig noise! It's hilarious! And I still, no matter when he grabs it, crack up! I can actually still hear the TV when he is enjoying it! I never thought I would be so excited about a pup toy that made noise!!!! I want to get more! ... show more

  • Great toy for large dogs
My dogs love it! Lasts longer than most toys. Great toy for dogs that like to chew. Grunting sound is less annoying than squeaking sound for aggressive chewers.

  • Tastes great!
My dog loves this toy! Best part is that it has a “quack” sound versus the annoying squeak! My dog takes this thing all over the house, I’ve even caught him trying to let it eat and drink his food! Only drawback, as with any dog toy given to a big dog, it won’t last past 6 months as he decides he wants the quack part out to play with. But once this happens I’ll definitely get him another... and another... and another. ... show more
