I have been using this brand of soap for years. I just love it and all of the scents that are offered. This particular bar has a subtle sweety/nutty smell and is like a loofah soap with built in grit. It's a little bit like filing off your dead skin, personally I love that but for people with sensitive skin it might be too much. You know when you have real soap in your hand. It suds up differently. It smells differently. The clean feel of your skin isn't harsh or astringent. This is the feeling your great grandparents had after bathing. Granted, they probably bathed in a tin or wooden tub (maybe a river), but at least their baths didn't involve small bricks of chemically engineered slime that were designed to strip oils from your body as cheaply as possible so the same company could turn around and charge you an arm and a leg for a special moisturizing lotion. Anyways, this company makes superb soap. Tried two varieties (lemongrass and sage) and both exceeded my expectations. They clean without stripping my skin of oil. They foam up superbly and feel great! The natural scents are just lovely. Would recommend to anyone. Also, note that these soaps are very robust. They were designed to be used every few days, not on the daily (unless you have exceptionally oily skin and hair). If you clean just the target areas (where all the smells are ;) daily, but leave off the larger areas, such as legs, arms, and central, cleaning them only every few days, your skin will do a great job of moisturizing itself. I've had my Lemongrass soap for a couple of weeks and I LOVE IT! I happened to see this on Amazon and I thought I would try it. It's a little pricey, but I'm tired of paying for the "baby" size soap available at my local stores! This is about 2 1/2 times the size of the bar soap locally. I love the smell and the way it leaves my skin after using. It's gonna last me quite awhile and it's well worth the price. I highly recommend this soap. ... show more

This soap has a light, pleasant scent, not too strong at all. Lather is rich and creamy, but rinses off easily. Bar is quite large and lasts a long time. I am impressed with this soap.

I love so much about this soap - the scent is perfect and it lathers well, but it is drying. It leaves my skin squeaky clean if you know what I mean. I am trying to replace my discontinued formula Claus Porto almond oil soap, and have probably tried 25 soaps now, but none are right.

We ordered the milk scent bar, and it has a light, pleasant scent that is not too over powering!!! It is heavy, dense, silky, gentle and creamy soap!!! I can only wash my face with French Milled Soap, or I break out in acne and rashes and I'm 60 something!!! I've heard that it is so gentle on my skin because French Milled soaps do not have all the additives and chemicals that U.S. soaps usually have. I did order a new silicone soap dish for this soap as the bar is bigger than average, but that's okay by me. My hubby is going to try lathering it up on his face and shaving with it instead of shave cream!!! ... show more
