Nice pretty complete set with decent instructions. Caution when drilling and screwing the plastic strips. I made the mistake of drilling the holes too small which made the plastic expand when I installed the screws. You should carefully drill holes large enough so that your screws slide through freely. And be careful drilling your countersink holes. It's still possible to expand the plastic strip if you tighten the screws too much - just back off a bit and you'll be good. Providing the plastic strips with pre-drilled holes and including appropriately sized mounting screws might be an improvement to this kit. ... show more

This kit was exactly what I needed. I used a large cutting board for the main part of the sled. All of these parts fit on easily and securely. I like the blue anodizing on the rails. Worked fine but kinda pointless if I’m being honest. Really no need for this kit. I never use the t-track. Nice kit, but pointless in the end.

    • you need one of those if you ust bought a tablesaw
The set came with clear instructions and with the more specialized parts (miter bars and screws) -- you supply and cut the rest, namely a piece of plywood. The T-track and knob are not strictly necessary (you can set up a stop block with a leftover block of wood and any C clamp), but useful all the same. The price is very reasonable. The instructions are very clear and helpful. For beginners on a table saw, they also give an example of how to make sure that any jig you build (and, by extension, your future projects) will provide the same level of precision as your table saw -- a good introduction to the world of woodworking. To make use of this kit, you'll need a tablesaw, a 2'x2' or 2'x4' piece of sanded 1/2" or 3/4" plywood (what big box stores call "project panels"). Highly recommended to any beginner -- anyone progressing beyond that stage will already have a few sleds for crosscuts, 45deg bevels, finger joints, etc. ... show more

    • Does not fit craftsman table saw
It is 1/8 small on the sides and also due to the two extension on top makes it not fit. Need to find a way to make a wooden one. But product looks solid otherwise.

    • Good end product but definitely not an entry level project.
To be completely honest building this crosscut sled took me way longer than expected and I would put this in the moderate skill level. It’s by no means an entry-level project. Also the product listing is a little misleading because it doesn’t include a few material items that you’ll need like #8 3/4” wood screws so it doesn’t come with everything you need and be quite frank It was a pretty big project and I’m what you would call a moderate woodworker but for the price I guess it’s reasonable. The trickiest part is getting the back stop perfectly square and you have to have perfect dimension wood in order to get perfectly square cuts. All in all I suppose it’s a good buy if your in the market for a budget cross cut sled and you want a project that’s going to give you a little bit of a challenge. so would I buy this again? probably not I feel I could probably get a better designed crosscut sled plan online and just build it from scratch and just buy the rails by themselves but for $25 and some of your time it’s not a bad buy. ... show more
