This chair is definitely worth the purchase! If you are on the fence, just do it! We needed a powered stair wheelchair to get our young adult daughter up and down the staircase in our home (bare wood stairs), two landings. My daughter is 4'9" and weighs about 98lbs., and both my husband and I each found the chair manageable taking her up and down the stairs. We practiced first with it empty, and let me just say, it is a heavy chair, yet very stable, high quality, and functions very smooth. When we put her it, it was even better, and she's a wiggle worm, to say the least, which is one of the reasons we chose this chair with a seat belt and optional shoulder harness. That being said, the shoulder harness does NOT stay on her shoulders, slipping completely off to the sides, regardless of how we adjust the straps. This, of course, is a huge risk for our family, which led me, as a professional bag maker with access to seatbelt webbing, to modify the shoulder straps with an adjustable, removable cross strap in order to hold the shoulder straps together, so they will not slip off her shoulders. This ain't our first rodeo. ;0) And, I would not let that deter you from purchasing this chair. :0) It's still a home run for us!

This chair works great. It is not good on carpet steps it will take the fuzz off the carpet. It works great on concrete and wood. No issues.

This chair is amazing. I have used it about 30 times and it still works great. I have carpet on my stairs, not a problem. It’s was the better choice for me because, I would have had to buy 2 chairs because of my stairs. This was cheaper and I’m able to take it with me. I have used it on all types of stairs and have had no problems. Practice makes perfect. It came two days before the delivery date. It is heavy about 70 lbs. Folding it is easy. The quality is great, very stable. I’m able to visit family and friends with stairs now. The only problem I have is that it’s electric for the stairs but not power for walking. Someone has to push me, no way to move it by myself.

Was not even tested to work before they sent it. We needed it for a large number of appointments, and it seemed really nice that one person could take a relative up and down stairs. We charged it and put it together, but it only clicks when you push the up or down button. If it worked, the small form factor would be good for tight spaces,l. If we can get it working I'll increase the stars and give it a better review, I would have spent more for this if they test them before they send them out. We are in a bad situation with getting to appointments now.

I was considering a permanent stair lift for my home but found this powered stair climbing wheelchair instead—and I’m so glad I did! It’s portable, doesn't require any installation, and works just as well. The electric control system is easy for my caregiver to use, and the chair feels very secure going up and down the stairs. It’s given me back some independence without turning my home into a construction site.
