Should I Buy It?

If you're a heavy gamer looking for a performance graphics card at a competitive price point, this could be a good fit for you. The overwhelmingly positive reviews make this a strong recommendation for any serious gaming setup. Minor issues reported seem to be isolated cases and are outweighed by the numerous advantages of these AMD models.

  • May be expensive, but if you can afford it, worth every penny.
The only thing that bugged me about the cars when first getting it, was that it was so THICK (not length that was an issue) that I can to modify my case/vertical mount to get it to fit properly. But other than that, let me just say, this card, is BEAUTIFUL. And I'm upgrading from an RX6700XT, so I already had a great card. But I'm building my nephew a PC for getting into college, so I'm using my older parts for his, and decided to go all out on my components at this point. The card stays COOL, I have the max clock speed set at 3000mhz, 1100mv, 2600mhz VRAM speed, 15%+ power limit increase, and WOW..... it performs fantastic. Truly. I don't even game at 4k (YET, at least. My HP X32 1440p/ 165hz 1ms monitor is still serving me wonderfully, and I just get maxed out FPS running it at 1440p for now. But the looks of the card, beautiful as well. But it just performs so damn well. Fans barely even have to come on, even at 1440p High and even Ultra in some games. The white LED's look great with any color scheme, the blue look great with matching colors, and looks great with them turned off even. I know the 7900XT can be had for ~$800 rn, which is still a GREAT deal, but I wanted that extra 4GB VRAM vs the 20GB on the XT. 24GB VRAM handles heavy loads like a champ, and IF IT IS IN YOUR BUDGET, I recommend the card highly. Absolutely LOVE it. ... show more

  • Crazy fast, looks good. Comes with a card stand.
Took the plunge and went AMD and I'm not disappointed. Runs everything at 1440P 165 hz with no problems. The card looks good and installed without a hitch. Powercolor included a little GPU stand because it's a beast and needs it. Fans are silent when not playing games, as the massive heatsink takes care of idle heat without a problem. There is some coil whine but as I've come to understand that's normal on modern high end cards. Still, it takes some getting used to. It did get less harsh after a few days and from what I've read on most cards it will get more quiet with age. ... show more

  • 7900xtx powercolor spectral white
Seems to be a great GPU. This was my first pc build and I’ve had no issues at all with this GPU. I have the 7900xtx paired with an AMD 7800x3d and using freesync with my 165hz monitor I am holding a solid 150-165 fps in modern warfare 3/warzone. Letting it loose/un-sync’d the Radeon software shows well over 200fps. I wish I would have gotten a 240hz monitor to really use the card to its full potential but 165 fps is more than enough for the time being. If you are wondering if this gpu is worth the $1,000 price tag, I can say it definitely is. ... show more

  • Constant device driver timeout issues
Not sure if it's AMD's software or this specific card (most likely the former). I can't play for more than 30 mins without running into a device driver timeout in most games. It's also random and hard to reproduce. If you search the internet, you will find over 20 different fixes and adjustments to try. Some of these include turning off features, downgrading drivers to prior stable versions, or even underclocking the GPU. While I appreciate the dedication of the gaming community, as a prospective buyer you simply need to ask yourself this: If you are going to shell out over a thousand bucks on a top of the line graphics card, do you really want to be dealing with this crap? "Downgrading" and "underclocking" are not words I wish to hear for a no compromise GPU. I would strongly consider NVIDIA instead. Yes they are overpriced, but at least they work. ... show more

  • Price to performance... SOLID!
Best GPU I've had up to this point. Good price for what I'm getting from it. Everything looks great and runs well. Will be the GPU I run for quite a while.

  • Great graphics, loud whine
The card is extremely loud when playing games due to the whine, your PC would either have to be in another room or use headphones in order to not hear it.

  • Gorgeous GPU but super, super whiny
This GPU is gorgeous, and the white PCB is a fine touch. It worked very well, but, like almost all PowerColor 7900XT(X)s, it is super, super whiny... the coil whine is high-pitched and irritating, even when wearing headphones. Can be heard from across the room with the fans at full blast. It hurt to return it, but what else you gonna do? It's like driving a nice Mercedes with a squealing fan belt that you can't fix or replace. This was my third and final PowerColor GPU for this generation. ... show more

  • It’s amazing!
I’m able to get. native 4k with absolutely no upscaling on at above 70fps consistently with max ultra settings and ray tracing. In the Last of Us Part 1 I was at native 4K with ultra settings and was getting 78 fps average out of the box! Can I just say this game is a thing of beauty when it has the perfect hardware!!! I did a custom OC in Ryzen Master on my water cooled Ryzen 7800x3D and a custom OC in AMD Adrenaline for the 7900XTX. After pushing everything as far as it can go, was still keeping it stable. The card was starting to draw just shy of 420W! But the important thing was, how was the performance before and after? Well, I'm happy to report the 18% increase in power for the GPU and the custom OC on the cpu use resulted in a 24% FPS gain! I’m so impressed! It’s dare I say flawless!!! ... show more
