I received my Elector PSP within a couple of days, as expected. The directions are straightforward, and the product is safe to use around your pets and kids (but I just used mine in my chicken coop, absent of pets and kids, as I was the only one cleaning it). Before I used this product on my birds, I was sure to clean (and then spray after cleaning) things in the run like perches, walls, and coop doors. Then, one by one, I extracted my chickens from the coop to wash before spraying them with the elector PSP. I referred to it as Spa day, and for the most part, no one was upset when I soaked their legs in warm soapy water and dried them off.. You should avoid spraying the product too close to their faces, so I actually used a little washcloth to protect them. The legs, chest, vent area, underneath the wings, and then the top remaining feathers get some sprays, and then each bird was released back into the already cleaned and sprayed run while I treated the remainder of my flock. Once I had everyone in the run it was time to clean the coop.. I removed ALL of my deep litter/ wood chips and burned them in my fire pit. If I hadn't I probably would've walked each wheelbarrow load a mile into the woods (being dramatic because bugs freak me out). Either way get them far away from your coop or you'll be cleaning it out again sooner than later when they find their way back ( gross!). Once all the debris was cleaned out, I sprayed every inch of the inside with the elector PSP, scrubbing with the abrasive side of a sponge (but I would've rathered a brush) and reapplying the spray to get maximum surface coverage. I left the coop open for a few hours to air out while the chickens remained in their run, relaxing after spa day. After a few hours I went back into the coop, and dusted it with some diatomaceous earth ( WHILE WEARING EYE PROTECTION AND A MASK !!) before putting in some wood chips. I left the wood chips in chunks so the chickens could have some fun spreading them about. Overall.. chickens weren't traumatized and neither was I. It was about 4.5 hours of my Independence Day morning, but my flock is happy, quieter, and bug free.. and I'm not freaking out about scaly leg mites or lice!! Would definitely recommend this product. ... show more

I read the directions . shook the bottle . added the sprayer part and it did not work. zero, zip & Knot-a. the sprayer part was cheap. had to buy a new top.

If you’ve ever had to wash chickens with mites you just know already you’d rather not lol this spray has worked great since my small infestation to keep everything at bay (12 chickens total, they were mostly on 3 of them) I will definitely keep using it to prevent any future mite problems. I went to the small coop early morning and after opening the door, felt something crawling on my hand. Looked inside at the nest box and it was infested with mites. They were even on the coop door, walls, bars... I removed the girls, put them in their diatomaceous earth/wood/volcanic ash/sand/dirt dust bath. I removed the nests and sprayed this all over the coop inside and out. The mites died instantly. I waited a few hours and sprayed again. I then removed everything inside and washed the dishes, feeders after spraying and letting them sit. I sprinkled diatomaceous earth around on the bars and nest boxes for the evening. Two days later I hosed the whole coop down inside and out. I sprayed again, and only added diatomaceous earth this time to clean nesting again, and floor. I have so far not seen a mite again. I will spray this every day while the girls are out and about doing their thing. I am very happy. Hopefully as I continue to keep the coop clean, I will not have this issue again. ... show more
