  • Unbeatable value
Color: Pearl
I just received my spark go and was truly impressed. The sound quality is great for such a small device. The amp is not overly loud but the volume is plenty for house practice and on the road practice. The tones are great and there is a multitude of amps and effects to shape the sound your trying to achieve. The app is pretty simple to use comes with tons of features like tuner, metronome, and lots of varied backing tracks to practice along with. The amp also functions extremely well as a portable Bluetooth speaker that you can play music through. Battery life is great and charges just like a phone. This will fit inside virtually any guitar case/gig bag and you have an extremely portable amp that has all the tones and effects of much more expensive amps in a form factor that you can take with you anywhere. I own a lot of music gear but this device is so feature laden and versatile for the money that there’s hardly any level of musician that would not benefit from owning one of these devices. There’s nothing in this devices price range that comes close to having all these features. Heck, most decent Bluetooth speakers aren’t this cheap and this thing functions as a fully featured amp modeler that can project great sound quality or be used with headphones! ... show more

  • Perfect with my traveler guitar
Color: Pearl
I used to travel with parlor sized and OM sized guitars and all of them get damaged. So, I got a traveler guitar, sturdy, well-built guitar in a full scale neck and just over 30 inches full length. I could practice with headsets (wired. note: the headset amps are easily overdriven by the pick-up and will cut out). I have purchased and used a couple of other little amps. At one time, I really liked the pig-nose amp. But, as a whole, little amps are fragile things. I unboxed Positive Grid 5-watt amp, pretty good heft, plugged my little traveler guitar in (an actual 1/4 inch plug in, no looking for a 1/8 inch adapter). Turned it on. Wow, good, clean, usable sound. It sounded really good. Reminded me of how a Bose system sounds. One volume control on the amp, four presets (accessible by a button to scroll through all of the presets: clean, dirty, distortion, and overdrive. And, they are all usable sounds, the preset reverb sounds good, the delay sounds good. The overdrive really gets some sustain. There's supposed to be an app to make your own custom presets but I'll just play with these for now. That 40-watt Positive Grid amp is looking mighty interesting right now. ... show more

  • Are you kidding me?!
Color: Black
If you don't have one of these already, here's your sign to get one. This little amp is perfect for practice. You can attach it to the guitar strap and walk around with it. I love this thing and it makes me practice even more than before because it's so convenient and portable. It has about an 8 hour battery life, but you can use it plugged into the charger. It has all the effects you could ever want and a library of online pre-configured sounds arranged by artist, genre or song. I have been looking for something this convenient for a long time, but most solutions required headphones to hear what I was playing, not this one. It's surprisingly loud for such a tiny speaker. You're not going to perform with it, unless there's a campfire nearby, but it's perfect volume for practice. The device is well constructed and doesn't feel like they skimped on materials. I'm completely happy with the purchase and thought that the price was well within range. ... show more

  • GO: best headphone amp
Color: Pearl
I already have the Spark 40W and love its impressive volume for practice. I decided to get the GO for greater portability hoping the quality was as good and I was not disappointed. Sounds identical (through headphones!). Given its compact size, I'm inclined to say the GO is slightly more impressive than its 40W counterpart. It's a little marvel. All the controls aare push button or dials. The guitar volume dial is nice and large. I would've preferred another volume dial for speaker volume instead of the push buttons--almost invisible, but the volume buttoms are highly responsive. I like and use the spare (black) grill. <Positive Grid: The 40W should come with an extra grill too. Sell different grills as accessories even>. The black grill looks great on the Pearl vs the fabric grill that came on it. When I plugged in my bass, the GO's woofer was too small to handle it from the sound of it. At high volume with a bass, the GOs woofer sounded to me like it would blow if turned up too high. How the GO handles a bass guitar is the main difference between the 5W and 40W Spark amps. 2" woofers cannot produce good bass and may blow out. To avoid that, I plug in as normal but connect the GO's line-out to a bass amp. Since plugging into the line-out makes the speakers go silent, you can't blow the tiny woofer as long as there's something plugged into the headphone jack. All in all, the sound is just as clear and rich whether you use the 5W or the 40W (comparing headphone output). I like walking around and playing. If you are new to guitar, you are better off buying the GO than a standard 10-20W practice amp. You'll practice more too. ... show more

  • Does what it does and does it well
Color: Black
Great practice amp which doubles as a bluetooth speaker. The fidelity for bluetooth music is ok, but since it also is a great practice amp with plenty of volume that is the tradeoff. Pair it with your phone, plug in your guitar and go! Uses the whole range of Positive Grid amps and effects. Highly recommend for travel. I use it with my Ciari folding travel guitar. ... show more
