My husband has multiple sclerosis which limits his ability to walk very far or operate a manual wheelchair. We are planning a spring trip to England and I was concerned about how we would manage sightseeing. I'm a physical therapist and a patient came in with this very cool Ranger electric chair. He loves it and it is easy for his wife to fold up and manage. I went online and looked at all the options they have, a lot! I found one I liked and it was airline approved. It was easy to charge, easy to fold and open. It has a sturdy cover with handles and a strap to keep it folded. It also has a remote control which you use to lock and unlock the chair. It also can operate the chair. So far we've only used it shopping in Walmart so he can get used to manuevering around people, aisles, etc. So far so good, and he likes it! It is a little difficult to get into the back of our Truck because it's high. A lower vehicle would be easier. I may get an inflatable cushion to add to the existing one just to raise him a little higher in the chair ( the PT in me). He thinks it is really comfortable as is. I love my Ranger. I chose it to replace one of a different brand which was not as sturdy. I was attracted by the 3 batteries because it would go longer and farther. I was especially attracted by the weight because it is easier for my friends and I to lift it out of the car so that enables us to go on shopping trips without a husband to move chair in and out. The wheel chair is still very new to me so I'm still learning about it. The first thing that I learned and loved was the ease in assembling, opening and closing it. It wii be used primarily to extend my range. I live in a beautiful location with good walking paths so i will be able to get out and enjoy tne nature and beauty available as my body continually prevents me from doing so. I was nervous after a bad experience with a cheaper chair, but the Ranger Carbon blew me away. It’s ultra-light, yet super durable. I’ve been using the version with two batteries for almost a week and still have more than half a charge! I love the remote. I can call it over to my bed. It folds easily, handles tight spaces like my hallway and bathroom, and even tackled cobblestone streets in Italy. I can lift it into my Highlander myself, and it barely takes up trunk space.
