Extremely handy. More powerful and the battery lasts longer than my previous drill/driver. The weight with battery pack is comfortable to use. The magnet's on the top sides are convenient to hold bits, especially when switching between drilling and driving. Love that it has a batter status indicator. (I'm honestly not sure why most of the other PorterCable tools do not. ) Chuckless bit changes are quick and easy. They have come loose on me on a few rare occasions, but it hasn't been an big issue. Is this better than other competitors, I can't say so. If you own other Porter Cable cordless tools, this is a great addition. If you're looking at the slightly less expensive driver/drill, I'd suggest paying a few extra dollars for this model, as it is (in my opinion) a better design with the impact feature for when you need to drill in to concrete/masonry. ... show more

    • Only good for Light Duty Jobs
Received this drill at the end of April 2016. Well, it lasted exactly 2 months from the time I received it. I have gone through so many of these drills over the past few years. I wouldn't recommend purchasing one unless you're only going to use it for light duty type of jobs. They overheat and shut down very fast. The thing I do like is that they are light to carry around, the light that comes on when you squeeze the trigger. I own many corded Porter Cable tools, all that have worked well for me for years and still do. I have corded PC tools over 20 years old that I still use and keep in my work truck. But if you're looking for a daily use drill and will often put it to a little heavy work, don't buy this... if you want I could send you about 10 defective drills and you can put one good one together, I should know, I've done it twice not. The clutches go out, the high/low gears have gone out and the switches(triggers) have gone out. The only thing that continues to work is the light and the battery tester... These drills show to have a 3 year warranty, How do I get that warranty??? I also purchased the additional warranty and there are no links showing how to use either the Manufacturer Warranty or the Additional Warranty, so currently I have 4-5 years warranty and no way to use it... ... show more

    • False advertising, came with 1.5ah batteries instead of 2.0ah batteries.
Very disappointed because the drill came with 2 1.5ah batteries instead of 2 2.0ah batteries as the description says. False advertising.

Really great drill for this price. Used it right away in the hammer drill mode. Worked perfectly. I can't say enough positive about this drill for the price. Highly recommend. *** Update*** I've now owned and used this drill for a couple months. Still awesome, still love it. (And the batteries last forever). I have used it in hammer drill mode and it works perfectly. I take it camping and use it to lower my stabilizer jacks. Awesome drill for such an inexpensive price. ... show more

Not as powerful as I had hoped but does what I need it to. Had trouble trying to holesaw a 3" hole in subfloor... Update: failed after 1 year - Amazon states 3 year limited warranty. We will see if they hold up to their warranty
