Our house was hit by a tornado so we don't have electricity. We do have water so we were able to hook this up to our shower. No more cold showers and instant hot water. LOVE this. I had high hopes for this water heater. However, it failed on all levels. When I attached everything exactly according to the directions and turned it on, a large orange flame shot out the bottom of the unit. Then, the water temperature varied a lot moment by moment, no matter what temperature I set the thermostat at. At that point, I decided it needed to be returned, so I turned it off and detached it from the propane, and set it on a table. A couple minutes later, I saw that there was still a flame ignited inside the unit (again, despite not being attached to propane), and the unit became so hot that I burned my hands. The attached photo shows what the bottom of the unit looks like after this all occurred (total running time was 1 minute). On top of all that, the unit feels flimsy. I wish I had anything positive to say about the unit other than it looks nice. ... show more

Works great gets to temp to shower when camping. wish they had a better way to mounted temporary. We use a pain bucked hook and hang it. Came with everything you need glad I did not have to go find fittings and stuff to make it work. Ordered one from smoother company a little cheaper but it was cheaper didn’t come with fittings for gas or water and the shower hose was so small and plastic I’ll keep as back up. I’m going to order another for my utility trailer so can was up when we are done playing in the mud. ... show more

This is my 3rd camping type of propane hot water heater for an outdoor shower. Digital gauge so you can see the temp. I like 106 degrees. Simple to set up. Only needs 2 D size batteries and a garden hose with water. Highly recommended.

I stalled to get hot water to the outdoor kitchen sink. It's pretty gross to put raw meat on the grill and have only cold water to wash hands. This water heater works perfect at providing hot water for hand washing and some dishes. It has only been 2 months, but working perfectly for now. We had some weather in the mid 20°Fs so I put a small heater under the sink set on the lowest setting and it never froze. ... show more

I believe this is our 4th of these. We loose them because something happens and we don't get them inside soon enough and they freeze--you know life! Anyway, after having a difficult time this year finding a replacement, I decided on this one. Because of the issues with the first one (different brand) I hooked this up outside of my setup first. It worked so I got it into my long term set up outdoor shower. LOVE the temp read out. This one is the most controlled with temperature adjustments I have every had. Planning to purchase another one in a few weeks to use "inside" to heat water for the kitchen sink rather than stove top once we finish redoing the kitchen. Please be aware that all of these have issues and the are what they are. And there are often times defective ones. Thankfully I didn't have to deal with customer service. And like I said, this one has had the best temp control I have ever experienced. I did have to purchase different connectors for the gas as what I have used with everything else did not work with any of the parts they supplied and I couldn't get the gas to stop leaking.
