Vice is well made and definitely a good buy for any of the items you need a third hand for. The suction on the bottom is poor as there is not a tight fit of the rubber base to the metal base of the vice. It needs the tension of the fit to keep shape to create suction and it is just not there.

    • Suction power - disappointed!
When I first got this vice I was able to make it stick with the suction, after trying multiple times. Now can’t get the suction part to work at all. I make sure there is no dust or particles on the suction part and I am using on a slab of smooth, clean granite. And to no avail! Too late to return so guess I’m stuck with it. ... show more

    • I can’t recommend this product.
This was a replacement. I tried to use it yesterday on a smooth surface and it failed to grip the surface. I’ve owned other vacuum vices that worked fine. I have to assume that this one wasn’t designed very well.

The suction gives out, even on a smooth prepared surface, after 10-15 minutes. The vice can't go a full 90°, with is the reason I bought it. If you try locking the arm down, it moves the arm. The locking ball also doesn't work very well unless you tighten the heck out of it. I can make sure with it, but it's difficult to use and set-up. ... show more
