I picked this up to help verify bills for personal sales, and it would definitely be handy in retail or small business settings too. It’s a compact unit with a rechargeable battery, so it’s easy to stash on a counter or toss in a bag. Bonus: it also works for checking IDs, credit cards, and any documents with UV features. That said, the UV light isn't super bright. It gets the job done, but it's best suited for indoor use only. In brighter environments or daylight, the UV glow (like the security strips in $10s and $20s) becomes hard to spot. For outdoor transactions, a counterfeit-detecting pen might be more practical. It’s still a useful tool for verifying cash and IDs on the go or behind the counter. Just know its limitations. I’m including a few photos to show it in action. Recommended for anyone who wants a portable and affordable way to spot fakes—as long as you're using it indoors.
