I hand stitched a leather purse but needed a machine to sew the fabric lining and attach it to a leather interior band of the purse. This little machine did that very well. I even used the needle that came with it! The leather is crazy horse from Tandy. I even sewed two layers of leather together just to see if it could handle it, the stitch was beautiful. The product was on 20% off sale and thought of giving it a try. If you don't prefer a bulky sewing machine then this is a great little gadget. It comes with various adjustments and also few bobbins. It will be a good equipment for quick handy work. At first I was really skeptical about the product . But I took the risk and It was worth it . The machine for me does wonders . I really love it . Its easy to use for beginners . And its best if you want to fix lengths of your pants and sew it . I recommend you if you just want to fix and sew your clothes . ... show more

This has been an amazing tool for my daughter to learn to sew. She is 14 so I spent 20 minutes showing her the basics of machine sewing and then cut her loose. I would not recommend it for anything more than a beginner. She has made around 15 to 20 masks with it and they've mostly turned out great. The biggest downfall is there is no reverse stitch function so it's a little slow going to get her run going securely. Also there is only one sized straight stitch which I actually like because it keeps it simple for her to learn. Getting the correct tension is a little of a struggle for her at times but again, I feel it's easier to learn about proper tension on a small scale like this prior to moving into more complicated machines. We took off a star because we felt the tension could be improved as well as the speed. It took me a few minutes to get the sensitivity of the speed down. It goes fast. With practice and a light touch it is manageable but it's taken her a while to get it. Without hesitation I recommend this for any new begginer to sewing. I would say younger than 12 needs constant supervision. Have fun creating :) ... show more

The most I've ever done with needle and thread is sew a button onto a shirt by hand. And that wasn't pretty lol I got this little machine because my husband needed velcro patches sewn onto a few shirts and I couldn't find a tailor who had time to do it when he needed it. The machine was threaded and good to go when it came out of the box! I was elated! I didn't have to figure out how to thread it! And yes, I did sew black velcro patches onto his shirts with the pre-threaded white thread. You can't see the thread when the actual patch is on, so it's all good :) ... show more

I really like this little machine. It involves a little bit of a learning curve, especially if you haven't used a sewing machine in a while. It lives up to what it is supposed to do. Great for small jobs and emergency mending jobs. A very nice product. Not bad for the price either.
