    • I love this safe. I don't think anybody in their right mind will try to break into it.
This thing is thick, heavy, and hefty. Perfect for travel. Great for hotel rooms. Great not just for guns, but also cell phones, jewlery, and anything that fits inside. The key is a serious security key. It's no joke. No way to pick the lock. The padding is nice and firm. Keeps everything secure, preventing even small item travel. Locked my keys inside like an idiot. Needed to get back in right away. Thought about taking a crow bar to it, but changed my mind in two seconds. Not sure if it would even work, or the work would not be worth it. Nobody would weld into this thing in their right mind. The locking mechanism is so recessed and fully covered by the metal jacket that there is no way of even remotely getting to it from the outside. You either have they key or you don't. Probably the best way to crack it is to tap out the hinge rod, but it does look super tight. An internal hinge would be nice. For the price point this safe is fantastic! The company responded to a key replacement request immediately. Freshly produced and shipped the keys in half the scheduled time. Everyone I interacted with was super professional and incredibly nice. Fantastic people! Make sure to record both the safe number and the lock number. Both will be required if you lose they key. Then remove the safe number and store it separately. The company does serious checks to make sure you are the safe owner if you need key replacement. Nobody will have your stuff if they steal the safe. If you are paranoid, you can easily file the key number off the lock and they key. But then lose they key and you are SOL ;) ... show more

    • Great for travel, or mounted in vehicle
This safe is great for travel and my full size Sig P226 fits fine. I take a lot of multi-state road trips on my motorcycle and I usually try to route through the 37 states that accept one of my concealed carry permits. Unfortunately, California and Oregon do not, so I always have to stop and lock up my unloaded pistol when I enter one of those states. This little safe is easy to pack on the motorcycle and is much safer and more convenient than the plastic lock case I used before. The other use I envision is to mount this under cover in the truck so that I can lock up my pistol if I have to go into an establishment that does not allow concealed carry. It comes with a cable lock to temporarily secure the safe, but its use is of limited value to me as I don't really have any immovable objects to wrap it around. However, it could slow down an inept thief if you secure it to something heavy. Functionally, it is quick to access with a three button code as long as it is out in the open. However, put away in the drawer of the night stand and it is too awkward to be of much use. I wish it had a biometric option. Overall, this is a nice little safe that is better suited for travel or vehicle use than as a bedside safe. ... show more
