I would have choose the double burner. This thing is just amazing. It work perfectly fine for a small kitchen. The only thing that I notice is that it takes almost ten minutes to build water. Ones I pass that time I'm good to drop in the pan whatever I want. The timer is very helpful. In fact I love it. Boiling egg-set the timer--- and I'm good Cooke some chicken broth... - set the timer and I'm good. Boiled potatoes... Well . I cook the boiled potatoes the previous day... Set for 30 minutes and I'm good. I just don't have to worry about it. Some stoves would be better like gass stoves. But I'm happy with it!! 1200 Watt maximum ! That's what my wattmeter shows when I set the burner to "3500". The burner works and it's hot at "3500", but it is 3X less powerful than advertised. I will keep it because those "1800 watt" burners are probably the same. So one star for BS.

I really wanted to like this burner. It was bought because our gas was turned off and we have a gas stove, and the tiny 15$ burner we had was pitiful. I was hoping for the price this would be a good investment. At north of $50, I thought this would be better than what it was. First off, it does heat up pretty fast, and has consist heat after you set it and leave it for a minute to heat up. My biggest issue is that it has such a small heating plate, that if you put anything on it that is even slightly bigger than the circumference of the burner, the area outside of the circumference does not cook or heat up like a traditional stove where the heat travels with conduction. I am not why. It just doesn't. It's made it incredibly difficult to cook things evenly when using a larger pot or pan. It does however get really hot really fast. With it's ability to get that hot also comes how much power it uses. I am not exactly sure how much it is rated for, but if you have more than a few things on the same circuit with it, it could pop the circuit. This happened multiple times while using it. If you had the pans the right size, and the availability on your circuit, I would say it is decent quality, but I don't think in a general setting that is worth the money.
