First Impressions & Packaging: The kit arrived neatly packed in a hard plastic carrying case to keep the tool and staples in place. It includes a red plastic welder gun, a good variety of staples (looked like about 1,000 as promised), and an instruction sheet. The presentation is giftable if you're buying this for a DIYer. Setup & Use: Assembly was basically plug-and-play. I read through the instructions (they’re basic but sufficient), plugged it in, and was ready to go. The tool heats up quickly—within a few seconds—and the staples load easily into the brass tip. I used it to repair a broken handle on a plastic fan, and it worked great. The handle is now solid again and saved me from tossing the whole fan. Performance: Heats up fast and stays hot long enough to embed several staples at a time. The handle on the welder is ergonomic, and the red trigger is responsive. It doesn’t overheat with light to medium-duty work. The variety of staples is great—you get corner, flat, wave, and inside types, perfect for different repair angles. Cleanup & Storage: The included case makes it easy to store everything. I’d suggest taping the instruction sheet inside the lid since it’s loose and easy to lose. The brass tip cools off quickly after unplugging. Test Result: Successfully fixed a plastic fan handle. It feels solid, and the weld seems like it’ll hold up over time. This tool would be excellent for fixing car bumpers, plastic bins, or appliance housings. Value & Recommendation: For the price, you get everything you need to make multiple plastic repairs and extend the life of household items. Way cheaper than replacing parts or appliances. I wish it had a little stand to hold the hot end off the table, but that’s a small gripe. Disclaimer Time: As part of the Amazon Vine program, I received this tool faster than it heats up. That said, the review is all me—no plastic repairs were coerced or bribed.

A very comprehensive plastic welding kit with a lifetime supply of welding staples. This plastic welding kit by Haliwaii is a very comprehensive kit. It comes with more welding staples than I could use in a lifetime. In my video, I sacrificed an old plastic handle I found lying around in the garage. I cut the plastic handle and used two 10 lb weights to hold the cut pieces together. I used the thickest wave staple included in the plastic welding kit to fuse the pieces together. This was the first time I've ever used a plastic welder, and it was simple to use. The welder heated the staple up in just a few seconds, and the staple fused the two handle pieces together. I wouldn't say that the handle was like new after welding, but it fused it together well enough for me to be able to epoxy it if I needed to. With the wire staple embedded in the two pieces, the handle would be stronger and hold together better than if I just used epoxy to put the pieces back together. I would use some caution when using this plastic welding kit. I would be cautious of breathing in any fumes produced by the plastic pieces that are being welded together; I used a fan to disperse the fumes. I would also do a better job of catching the small pins of the staples when cutting them off after repairs (I did not do a good job of doing this; I only found one of the pins that went flying when cutting them off of the staple). You should also be careful of where you lay the welder down after repairs, as it stays hot for about a minute or so. You might not use or need a plastic welding kit every day, but when you need one, this kit will be a lifesaver for broken or cracked plastic components. I highly recommend this Haliwaii plastic welding kit; it is easy to use and a great value for such a complete kit.

This thing really works well. I used it to repair a plastic hinge peg that had broken off a toolbox lid. I had tried superglue, epoxy, and screws to fix it, but nothing worked--there just wasn't enough plastic on the hinge area to fasten the peg to, and the peg would always end up break off. I used this gadget to sink 3 staples across the base of the peg and the surrounding plastic area. I don't think it's the kind of repair that these things are normally used for, it was a little tricky finding good spots for all 3 staples in a tiny area of mostly thin plastic. Plus this was my first time using it, so I didn't have much technique. But what do you know, it worked perfectly, the peg is on solidly and the lid opens and closes perfectly. (As you can see in my pix, the hinge area is pretty messed up looking from all the melting and stapling, but that's only on the inside corner where you can't normally see it--it looks great from the outside--and the messiness doesn't translate to any weakness in the fix. The gadget was super-easy to use, and for most plastic repairs it shouldn't be challenging to position the staples or avoid messy melting--my repair was an unusually challenging situation. The welder heated the staple to the plastic melting point in a few seconds, and cooled enough to fix the stable in about five seconds. I had no trouble controlling the depth of the staple placement into the melting plastic. The variety of staple shapes should make this thing work in a wide variety of repairs, I used 2 different shapes to dial in the coverage I wanted in my repair. I expect to get a ton of use out of this, it should allow me to repair any number of cracked or broken plastic items that I'd otherwise have to throw out or use as is, as well as to install plastic parts. This thing is just fun to use — I’ve been fixing all kinds of plastic parts around the house and garage. Heats up fast, works great on all kinds of plastics, and feels solid in the hand. Honestly wish I’d picked one up a long time ago. Makes plastic repairs quick, easy, and kind of addictive!
