I’ve been using this fuel transfer pump primarily for yard equipment (lawn mower, small gas cans), and it performs well for smaller re-fueling jobs. The flow rate is around 3 gallons per minute, which is adequate for light-duty use, but it’s not intended to replace a full-size fuel pump or handle large-volume transfers quickly. For topping off equipment or transferring fuel between containers, it does the job efficiently. One of the standout features is the multiple power options. Being able to use USB, AA batteries, or a 12-volt source makes it very convenient, especially if you’re working in different environments without consistent access to power. The build feels sturdy overall, though I would recommend handling it with care—it doesn’t seem like it would hold up well to being dropped on a hard surface. The auto-stop and hand nozzle feature works exactly as expected and is a major plus. It significantly reduces the risk of spills and makes the process cleaner and easier, especially when multitasking. This is one of my favorite aspects of the pump. The universal fit worked well with both a standard 55-gallon drum and typical fuel cans. It pumps fuel so maybe three stars could be justified, but for me, there are just too many limitations to recommend this product. The pump can be operated with four AA batteries, which is how I ran it, or it can be operated with a USB connection to 110V, or by connecting to a 12V car battery. I had expected the USB to work with an internal lithium battery, but that isn’t the case. The pump operates on 110V directly—no internal battery. The 12V hookup is probably fine, but I would be afraid of sparks so I’m not going to use it that way. I expected the pump side to securely attach to my 5 gallon fuel tank because I intended to leave the pump in the tank until the tank ran dry. There isn’t any way that the attachment can seal tightly—It has a hook that grabs the lip on the tank but it won’t hold in a sealed position. Because the pump doesn’t seal on the can the pump must be drained and stored. Very messy! The directions indicate that the supplying tank should be higher than the receiving tank. I’m looking for the very heavy supplying tank to be on the ground so I don’t need to lift it up. Isn’t that the whole point?

This fuel transfer pump has an extra long hose (about 74 inches, not including nozzle) to reach my zero turn mower without having to lift up a heavy gas can. It is very light weight, but the pump can move fuel quickly, to save time. It is also much safer than risking spilling gasoline on a hot mower or other equipment. My newer gas cans have a mesh screen inside to prevent inserting this pump, but I found that this mesh screen is fairly easy to remove so you can get the pump inserted into the gas can (see pics). The pump takes 4 AA batteries that are not included, but it also includes a USB-C cable that can be used. Additionally, it comes with 12 volt battery clamps that you can connect to your mower or car battery, so you can run this pump if you don’t have any AA batteries handy. I prefer the AA batteries to reduce any chances of sparks from the 12V system, creating an ignition source. Put the pump hose end into your gas can, press the power button, and put the nozzle into your fuel tank and pull the lever just like filling up at a gas station. The pump has a sensor to detect when your tank is full and does an auto shut off. It pumped almost all of the 5 gallons from my gas can, but the mower was still thirsty, so I couldn’t test out the auto shut off feature. Some of these pumps have a shorter hose, but this pump’s longer hose makes it a good deal if your fuel tank is in an awkward location or you are pumping fuel out of a deeper container. One drawback (or benefit) is that this pump clips onto the gas can’s opening, so it does not really form a tight seal, but it removes from the gas can very easily. You should plan to remove it each time you are finished pumping, to prevent vapors or contamination. When you are done, with the power off, just lift the hose up above the gas can and the leftover fuel quickly drains back into the can. Overall it is a good value to save you from lifting the heavy tank and stay safe.

This pump actually works pretty well overall. The hose length is good, the pump feels well constructed, and I like that it gives you three different power options. You can run it with batteries, a USB-C cable, or jumper cables connected to a vehicle battery, which makes it really convenient depending on where you’re using it. The auto-stop feature is nice and it transferred fuel quickly without any issues during testing. My biggest complaint is the carrying bag. It’s literally sealed down the middle, so you can’t actually fit the pump or hoses inside properly. The only thing that really fits are the power cords, and the bag is way too oversized for just those. Weird design choice. Aside from the bag issue, the pump itself seems solid and does what it’s supposed to do. Decent value for money, just wish the bag was better designed.

My parents often get fuel in 5 gallon tanks and my dad used to hold a funnel while simultaneously balancing a 5 gallon jug. Needless to say it was stressful and not to mention hard and messy. This thing is heaven. We opted for the batteries and they recommend taking them out after. We put in 15 gallons of fuel and this thing was like being at a gas station. It ran and chugged until the jug ran dry. It was amazing!!! My parents love it and admitted that they would have never paid $80 for this but they are so happy to have it. It makes a messy job way less so.
