This thing was a pain in the ass to figure out and put together because why would we send instructions. When I finally managed to get it together and put it in the barrel it wouldn't fit the plastic barrel I needed it for.

Got the regular polypropylene version to use with some 55 gallon food grade rain barrels at the off grid cabin. Screwed in just fine, excellent flow rate, love the screen filter on the bottom as well as the telescoping pipe. I chose this barrel pump to transfer some questionable fluids while avoiding any toxic spills. It has solid construction, feels heavy-duty, and operates smoothly without any leaks or unusual noises. It fits snugly on barrels and handles chemicals exceptionally well. There's no corrosion, which is a great feature since chemicals can be quite harsh. Pump works great and easy to assemble but bottom threads on top pipe snapped at the connection to the bottom peice of the pipe and broke.

    • A good barrel pump for metal barrels, plastic barrel requires an adapter

This barrel pump works just fine. It self primes and does not leak when pumping. The parts are easy to assemble in a few minutes. the pickup that goes into the barrel is telescoping and does not leak air defeating your pumping action as I was concerned it might. The pump fits standard metal barrels but is does not fit plastic barrel bungs. I have not found an adapter yet and so, I have to remove it from my barrel after using it as it does not fit securely to keep out debris. Otherwise it is a good bargain with now metal to metal parts and works OK for gasoline as far as I can tell. Update: I did find an adapter here on Amazon and now this works just great. ... show more

Works great. Used for water, so can't really speak to corrosion resistance to any chemicals. Easy to assemble/disassemble, and takes up a small footprint when apart. Pumps quickly and is lightweight yet sturdy without any leaking
