I just got this today & been using it for about 4-5 hours in a small bedroom, door closed. All the setup was done correctly and everything, even replaced the reusable ice packs. This room feels hardly any different. This product has some decent airflow but it basically feels like an overpriced fan. I got it for a special $120 sale, (originally $200) but if I'm being honest this compares to probably a $40-$50 fan. The water and ice system that this uses makes no noticeable difference that I can tell to the temperature of the air blowing out. The air blowing out is room temperature air and nothing more. Im definitely returning this and don't recommend you buy. One sidenote, the reviews for this product are compromised. The majority of people are reviewing some kind of hair product that has nothing to do with what this is, so keep that in mind if you are trying to rely on the reviews. I do have central air but I bought this with the mind of keeping my cooling cost down. I use the fan during the day and the air cooler at night. It doesn't cool like an air conditioner but it keeps my room cool enough at night to get a good sleep. Initially, I was skeptic but I'm really glad I invested in this air cooler. To experience the ultimate coolness, I suggest use cold water, use the ice crystal water bottles as directed, and close your doors and windows. This will help promote coolness. ***UPDATE*** save your money. This thing SUCKS. We’ve had it going for several weeks now, mostly using it at night when I’m in bed because. Due to health reasons the heat really bothers me. It worked ok the first few weeks and now it barely blows. I’ve cleaned filters and removed the back to ensure there wasn’t a reason for the change. So if you’re needing this for more than maybe a small office, I’d look for something else. This works ok for a small room. I have yet to find where to put the ice packs they sent with it. If you’re able to place a window unit, you’ll get better air with that, especially for the price. ... show more

    • Won't cool a 12x12 room only maintains temp
If the room starts at 96 deg it will maintain that temp for hours, If the room starts at 86 deg it will maintain that temp for hours, If the room starts at 76 deg it will maintain that temp for hours. Not worth it in my opinion.

I was looking up DIY air coolers (most common is ice and a fan rigged up to a cooler) and I realized it would ultimately be a better use of my time & money to just get this. I’ve been using it to cool off my kitchen in the summer because my windows can’t fit a regular AC and the portable ones that vent out a window have too big of a footprint. **This is not an AC, and it’s more than a fan. It’s a useful and somewhat effective cooling fan that uses ice packs to cool off water and blow it into the space.** Instruction manual contradicts itself and is a little confusing. You DO NOT want to keep the “wet curtain” aka the cardboard filter thing inside, and you MUST keep the valve on top open or it will overflow. It’s important not to fill up the ice packs past the fill line, and they don’t last too long in my very hot kitchen, but they definitely cool the space down a few degrees. ... show more

My daughters apartment does not have central air. She has a window air conditioner in the livingroom only. We bought this to put in the bedroom and it works wonderfully! Keeps the room cool. Easy clean up. Highly recommend!

This product does not work, and it leaks. I wish I tried it out when I first bought it, but now my return window is closed because I waited until it got warmer outside to try it out. I used it in my small bedroom and my dyson fan cools the room down better than this piece of junk. DO NOT waste your money. You're better off investing more money in something better. ... show more
