The media could not be loaded. I bought this unit because I specifically wanted something that didn’t need to vent to outside. I thought the water tank feature with ice packs for extra cooling sounded great. You don’t need water in unit for it to work though. You can run it like a regular fan with or without the “cooler” setting being turned on I use this unit in my game room, which currently has no central air. So far, the unit has been working great. The tank can be filled with water and the unit comes with 3 bottles to fill, freeze, and add to the water for added cooling. As shown in the video the unit can be filled from the bottom and from the top. I recommend taking the tank to a tub or sink for faster filling. Also, be careful when refilling the tank from the bottom. Make sure the water line and pump have completely emptied it you’ll get water on the floor when lifting the pump out. If you’re gonna be refilling the tank from the top of the unit be aware that this takes longer as the reservoir is small and needs time to drain to the bottom as you’re filling it. The lights on the control portion time-out after a couple minutes, but tapping on a button will wake them up. The unit comes with a remote which is pretty convenient, however, the 2 AAA batteries required for it are not included. The unit comes with wheels to install on the bottom of the tank. This makes it pretty easy to move around, so you don’t have to risk lifting it dragging it while it’s filled with water. Also keep in mind that the horizontal blades need to be adjusted by hand. The vertical blades move side to side automatically when the “swing” button is pressed on the unit or on the remote. All in all a decent unit for the price.

First off, I live in AZ and we all know how hot it is here. I am in the process of purchasing a new 5 ton AC unit, but the temps today are already close to the 100's. Regular fans were just not cutting it. They both arrived neatly packed and with very easy instructions. I put the ice packs/water in and turned on at 9pm, crossing my fingers that it would stay cool through the night. I woke up this morning at 6:30am to cool air and a comfortable night of sleep. I am so happy with my purchase! Yes, it's not cooling my entire house, however, I work from home and I can easily wheel it into my office with no problem. They are pretty sturdy and lightweight for a 60 year old lady to move around. hopefully, my new unit will be installed in a couple of weeks!! These two little units are a temporary lifesaver, and easy on the budget!

Works very well in my room in a dry climate! Keeps it about 10 + degrees cooler. I fill it with COLD water and I use the freezer packs in the bottom and 1 in the top and it definitely works! I got this when it was on a serious sale and I am so glad I did! I did get an extra set of freezer packs so I can change them out during the hotter part of summer every 12 hours. When I run it on low or medium CONSTANTLY I don't have to refill the water for about 24-36 hours. I personally rinse it and CLEAN it with peroxide or white vinegar (just the water resovoir) every time I go to fill it. The water does turn a little yellowish when it starts to get low, I use filtered water so I can only presume its from being filtered through for the 1-2 days which is why I clean it out between every fill. It comes with wheels but I dont use them. VERY easy to put together and use, and it has swivel like function so you can have the cold air sweep from side to side and there are even "blinds" on the front to direct the air up, down or straight ahead. Theres a timer if you don't want it to run all the time, (I don't use that, because when I run it, I am RUNNING IT) I have also found, at night, when its cooler here even in summer, I don't need the ice packs, so I pop them back in the freezer sometimes and just let the air blow with my other fan (that also sometimes will help run the water out so I can clean and refill it the next day) YMMV as I run mine all the time when I use it so I do refill mine about every other day to every 2 days. It has a remote but I have not used it yet.

While this puts out lots of forced air, and it is cool... it is NO COLD. I was expecting much colder air to help keep the temp lower. In the SoCal desert, it gets pretty hot. I thought the ice packs would do more than it did. I got these for my boys to use in their rooms to help lower the use of the AC. So far, im not impressed, but they are helping a little. They are easy to set up and use. Keep an eye on the water line though, when you are trying to use it on the cooling feature, this will run out quickly. Being portable really makes it easier to refill.

A swamp cooler, not an air conditioner, so will raise the humidity in a room. I measured air temperature as low as 68 coming out of unit with ice packs in place (70 seems more common). My one concern is that the evaporative filter in the back is made of paper. I'm not sure how long it will last. Maybe it's possible to purchase a replacement. I have hard water, so am using distilled water in the unit, and no problems so far.
