I received this unit within three days of ordering, so shipping was quick and reliable. Setup however, is definitely more of a hands-on process than the manual suggests. The instructions are vague, and the diagrams aren’t very clear. I had to snap off sections of the sliding window piece to get it to fit properly in my window without covering the exhaust outlet, but once I got it in, everything worked fine. One thing to note: I had to press the reset button on the power cord before the unit would turn on —easy fix, but not mentioned in the instructions. Once it’s up and running, though? It’s awesome. Operating the unit is simple, the controls are intuitive, and it comes with a remote (just bring your own AAA batteries). The design is sleek, and it offers cooling, fan, and dehumidifier modes. Even just running on high fan + cooling at 61°F for 20 minutes made a noticeable drop in room temperature. I’ve been using box fans to help circulate the air throughout my space, and it’s helped tremendously during a heat wave while my central AC is down. The unit is also quieter than most portable ACs I’ve used, which I really appreciate. My only gripe is with the drainage port—it’s located all the way at the bottom of the unit, which makes draining after using the dehumidifier mode a little awkward. One thing to keep in mind: while it advertises as 10,000 BTU, the actual cooling capacity (DOE/SACC rating) is closer to 7,000 BTU, which is pretty typical for portable ACs due to how they’re tested. It still performs well in small to medium rooms and holds its own, especially for the price.

PQH 10,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner – Honest Review After a Week of Use I picked this up during a mini heat wave, hoping for something budget-friendly that could actually cool a room—and I gotta say, this little unit impressed me. Cooling Power: It says 10,000 BTUs and that feels about right. My bedroom is roughly 400 sq ft, and it cools it down quick, like within 10-15 minutes on full blast. You can actually feel the temp drop fast, and it hits all corners of the room, not just the area right in front of it. Noise: It’s not silent, but it’s quieter than I expected. More of a low hum than anything. Sleep mode really is quiet—I didn’t need to crank up the TV or anything to drown it out. Controls: You can use the buttons up top or the remote, which works great from across the room. Everything’s straightforward. My older parents had no problem using it. Features: The 3-in-1 modes are handy. I mostly use the cool mode, but I tried the dehumidifier after a rainstorm and it actually pulled a good amount of moisture out. Haven’t really needed the fan mode alone, but it’s there. Timer and sleep settings are solid, too. Build & Looks: It’s got a clean white design that doesn’t look ugly in the corner. Not too bulky, and it rolls around easy enough. Setup was simple with the window kit—it’s adjustable and fit my apartment window fine. Value: They weren’t lying about energy use. My electric bill didn’t spike, and I’ve been using this thing daily. Can’t say for sure it’s under 50 cents a day, but it’s not bad at all. Minor Gripe: The exhaust hose could be a bit longer. If your window’s high or far from the outlet, you might need to get creative. Bottom Line: If you’re sweating it out in a small-to-medium room and don’t want to spend a fortune, this one’s worth it.
