Description

The Pony Drill Press Vise is designed for the home workshop or professional work shop. This vise has two slots along each side for ease of mounting to any drill press. Malleable cast iron with orange powered coated finish. The 4 inch opening capacity will allow the user to clamp a wide range of products for safe drilling. The replaceable steel jaws are 4 inch wide and have a throat depth of 1/2 inch. The Chicago based Pony Tools Inc. (formerly known as Adjustable Clamp Co.) which was established in 1903 is the manufacturer of all Pony and Jorgensen products. The Pony Style 29000 vises are imported from China.

THIS IS NOT A MILLING VICE. that being said, it should have at least been squared off better. i dont have any measurements to show but i had to do a lot of filing and leveling off to make it within my acceptable margins. it is ok, i recommend a new set of jaws and to stone hone the fixed jaw and the guide sections to make em square and drill out the flip flop chinesuem handle to an actual vice handle out of w2 or any tool steel. other than that its the same as the one sold in hazzard freight tools ... show more

    • What can I say? It's a Drill Press Vice
You'll really need a couple of carriage bolts and wing nuts to secure this to a tabletop drill press. Built well, very sturdy, got a good heft to it. This is one of those very occasional-use things but when you really need it nothing else will do. Good value, too.

I use this clamp to hold golf club shafts in place as I re-grip each club. While this might not be the intended use of this tool it does the job easily and perfectly. It is well made and heavy duty enough to last a real long time. Great purchase at a great price with super quick delivery…perfect.

It's got a bit of slop in the jaws, and is not going to be mistaken for a high-dollar vise. However, it does the job as a basic drill press vise, has some heft to it and isn't aluminum like the even-cheaper vises, and I confess I like the high-viz orange color. The moving piece has somewhat coarse finish and seems not as strong. Still it will probably hold up just fine with normal usage.

Got this as an add-on for my Wen 4214 drill press. It fits, works, and even looks decent too. You'll need to provide your own hardware.

    • No Frills Solid Clamp
Great clamp for the money. I do enjoy some of the features of the more expensive clamps, but this will do the trick for the vast majority of drill press needs.
