I really wish I had discovered these mesh anti-clogging cubes sooner in my koi pond journey; they would have saved me countless hours of pump cleaning and frustration. For over a month now, I've had one of these cubes around my 1500 gph pond pump, and my waterfall has been flowing beautifully without any issues. Previously, I was cleaning and unclogging my pump at least once a week, but now the only maintenance I do is for my pressurized filter sponges. The mesh is so tight 1) you can’t tie the mesh closed because of fear of breaking the flimsy plastic supports so we had to place it upside down to avoid dirt getting in anyway and 2) the dirt sticks to the outside of the mesh, effectively blocking out the water and almost burning out the pump. Waste of money and I was charged for returning it dirty, when that is exactly the problem with this thing! Look elsewhere.

Very good idea if you’re going to pump water from a lake. The top draw string isn’t great in that I couldn’t get it snug around hose. It doesn’t easily sink. That said I’ve used it for a year and it’s performed fine.

I always thought this would be a great idea! I have it covering a submersible pump in my Koi pond! It works really well except with the hose hanging out the hole. I can’t get the top closed enough so debris doesn’t flow in and clog up the pump. The other problem I had was if the pump is anywhere near the mash material it blocks up every day. I have used it for several months and been happy even though it was a pain in the neck to pull it out every day and clean it but now it is tearing which I don’t know why because I don’t put any weight on it. I have a bungee cord hooked to the handle of the pump and that’s what I lift it with. So I don’t understand why it tour at one of the corners anyway good and bad in the product
