These benches arrived in just a few days from Amazon. The back of the bench has a metal bar along the back and on one of the backs the bar was not completely fitted into the groove and bulged out, resulting in a warped back. I immediately called Polywood Customer Service and they were super nice and shipped me a replacement part. That took almost a week to get as it was shipped FedEx and not Amazon. But both benches went together in about 20 minutes each (and I am a 74 year old grandmother). I got help carrying them down to the tennis court - they are pretty heavy. But they look great, are comfortable and add some class to the court. ... show more

Glad I bought this one compared to others. It is stable and strong, and just the right weight. It also seems amazingly durable. The only quibble I have is that the two corner supports were not drilled out, and I had to do that myself with a carefully selected drill bit just big enough to accommodate the screw and still hold tight. That is a manufacturing process issue - and more of a human failure than a product defect. Someone cut corners or was absent-minded on the line. ... show more

My bench was missing 4 pre drilled holes in the seat assembly! I called them and with absolutely no hassle they shipped a whole new seat assembly. I RECEIVED it in 4 days!! Sometimes the small stuff is important also. Most things you have to put together come with a small allen wrench which is terrible. They tear your fingers up!! This is a well constructed, though simple, bench. I like the fact that it is made of recycled material and it looks good. Construction was easy but it helped to have an extra set of hands. The bench is sturdy, tough and will hold up to the outdoors (where it spends all of its time). It is comfortable to sit on for an hour or so without cushions and cleans up easily after a storm (or a spill....). The only drawback to my specific unit (and why I rate this 4 stars and not 5) is that the front slat was badly scratched at the factory and quality control should have rejected the unit on cosmetic grounds, but they shipped it anyway. The scratch does not bother me or impair the functionality so I just live with it. Hey, it's an outdoor bench after all! Good purchase. ... show more

Prime saved me, getting benches shipped to Hawaii was a problem ($). I ordered 2 benches. One box arrived with quite a bit of damage to the box (enough that I documented it in pictures) but the insides were not damages. You could actually touch the benches without opening the box on a few corners and on a side & a parts bag was opened and you could hear the parts moving about. The box damage speaks well for the material that the benches are made of. I purchased 2 benches for either side of my front door and was concerned that polywood would look like plastic but it doesn't, you can't tell it isn't painted wood or metal. The instructions could use some work, getting the back to flex enough to fit into the side support was a challenge. If they get complaints that the back doesn't fit "IT DOESN'T" until you press you knee again it and push/force the part into the slots (not intuitive). We were afraid we would break something taking this action but since everything else fit so we took the chance. Oh there was one other thing they didn't tell you. The braces that attach the legs to the seat edge you have to make your own holes in the polywood. Now it wasn't a problem to line it up, tap the screw with a hammer and then screw it directly into the polywood but they could have told me that was required. The Final Product is a 5. Our ability to go beyond the instructions was a 5, there instructions were a 2 they did a disservice to the product. Once built they look just like the picture, very solid, quality very nice, and not having yearly maintenance is a real plus. ... show more
