I used to be a plush mattress girl, and I’ve sort of been on a quest since I entered adulthood to perfect my sleep situation. I sleep on this layered on top of a tatami mat. The tatami mat was actually more expensive than the futon itself. I love it. It’s comfortable and supportive. One of the best things about it is how portable it is. I have wasted so much money on mattresses over the years. Just because a mattress is thick doesn’t mean it is more comfortable or plush. I love this futon because I know I will be able to roll it up and take it with me to new apartments for years to come. My partner and I are both about 5’8” and 150 lbs. We both work on our feet all day and have occasional back and neck pain. He sleeps on his side and I sleep on my back, and we have had no problems with this mattress. Get this futon if you’re on the fence, life does not have to be complicated and you don’t need a 14 inch thick mattress to sleep comfortably.

this is not 3 inches thick, I bought one on discount, assuming it was returned because it's described as thicker than it really is, gave it a 5 star because for 25 bucks, it wasn't a bad deal. it is very lightweight and would travel well

If a zero star was possible, this item would deserve it. After placing extra padding underneath this so-called mattress, it still didn't help. Might as well sleep on a cement floor. Does not provide any padding whatsoever. Terrible product. Time to consider whether buying cheap Chinese stuff from Amazon is worth my money.

Originally was going to return it but ended up keeping it. The mat is okay, but not the best. Not super comfortable but I've seen worse. The material isn't cool, it can get hot really easily. And also it's not rollable, and does not go into the small black bag it came with. You can take the cover off to wash it but the stuff inside the cover is not even solid, just pieces of cotton? fiber? Bunched up together...

I can’t say enough good things about this Japanese floor mat! It has just the right amount of cushioning—not too thick but perfectly supportive—making it ideal for multiple uses in my home. My husband often struggles with a sore back, and this mat has been a lifesaver for him. He lies on it to relax, and it provides just enough support without being overly firm.
