Had my eye on these for a long time. Had a pair of Polk rti4's for many years till I played them so loud one night I blew the voice coils. I replaced those with some Nuemi bs5's. For a little over a hundred dollars they are great speakers that punch well above their price. However when I finally caught these Polk es15's used/returned at a price direct from from the Amazon warehouse I couldn't ignore I took the chance. They are brand new though. Never been unboxed, I couldn't believe it. Even at full price they would be worth it. I listen to a lot of different genres of music, some on vinyl, some CD's, and digital copies/streaming. Everything sounds great. Clean, precise, full, and dynamic. Intrument seperation and stereo stage is very wide and detailed. Bass is well defined and tight. Mids are smooth and not too forward. Highs are clean and crisp without being sibilant or fatigueing. Cabinets are very well made and heavier than you would think. Very well built. ... show more

The reviews are so confusing because they are literally for different models in the lineup. Amazon please fix this. ES20 Review: I live in a studio apartment in NYC so getting a 5.2 system was overkill by far. I bought these ES20 monitors to compliment a single ES60 in a bi-amp configuration. As standalone bookshelf speakers, these aren’t bad at all. The mods and highs are CRISP and CLEAN. As you can imaging the bass is not ground shaking but it is adequate. Where these monitors really shine is when I connect my ES60 giving me an immersive experience. I ordered everything in white and omg they are a masterpiece. Zero regrets here except perhaps I could have gotten away with using the ES10’s as well ES60: I’m operating a white single unit in a big amp configuration. One channel for the highs and another channel from the amp for the mids and lows. Much like my review above for the ES20, the 60 is crisp, clean and loud once powered up well. I initially had 80 watts going to the speaker but they seemed weak so now it’s 160 and perfect. Could probably be even better with more. More than adequate for an apartment. Again it’s not going to rattle your floors but damn this thing can get loud. I probably don’t need a separate subwoofer but that’s always an option if you really crave hair raising bass. 5 Stars all around for build quality, weight, appearance, clarity and loudness! ... show more

The Polk ES15 has very good to excellent soundstage & imaging. One of the best 5.25 driver speakers I have heard, in a very well-constructed cabinet with power-port technology. Very hard to beat at the lower price now offered. Had wanted ES20 but when I saw the dimensions knew it would be massively big at almost 14" deep - the ES15 at 10" deep fits much better on stands with less weight. Bass is substantial for bookshelf speakers, I would say the ES15 is more warm sounding than bright and can be enjoyed without sub for music. Magnet grills and nice walnut veneer finish, I would not hesitate to recommend. Been running them with a Class D TPA3255 and the match has been excellent. These also get loud without any clipping and are not hard to drive, correct sensitivity is 88db. Nice speaker that performs very well. ... show more

I really enjoy these speakers (ES15 and ES35). They get used for movies, music, record player, and general AirPlay streaming via the receiver. I have to be disappointed in the sound quality of these, especially at such a great price point.

I have had this pair of speakers for about a week now, so they are well broken in. With about 20 plus hours on these speakers now, they sound great. The bass really stands out. The bass is tight & well pronounced. Surprisingly the bass gets down to a fairly low frequency. The bass seems to hold together well at higher volumes. The mid range is well crafted & inviting. The highs are soft & warm. The sound stage is welcoming & on point. For $209.00 these speakers are well worth the money. Even at full price (299.00) I would consider purchasing them. These speakers are built solid. If your looking for a mid tier speaker set you can't go wrong with these! I highly recommend these Polk SE 15's. ... show more

The Polk Signature Elite ES20 bookshelf speakers are a were a great choice for my audiophile ears. If you are looking for high-quality sound at a reasonable price these are the speakers to buy. These speakers feature a Dynamic Balance acoustic array, precision crossovers, and Power Port bass-enhancing technology, all of which combine to deliver clear, detailed sound with deep, rich bass. The ES20s are Hi-Res Audio Certified, meaning they can reproduce audio up to 24-bit/192kHz resolution. This means you I enjoy my favorite music in all its glory, with no loss of detail. The speakers also have a wide frequency response of 41-40,000 Hz, so I can hear everything from the deepest bass notes to the highest treble notes. The ES20s are also very efficient, meaning they don't require a lot of power to drive. This makes them a great choice for people who don't have a lot of power available, such as those who are using them in a small apartment or bedroom. In terms of sound quality, the ES20s are simply outstanding. They produce a wide, spacious soundstage with excellent imaging. The highs are clear and detailed, the mids are smooth and natural, and the bass is deep and powerful. These speakers are perfect for listening to all types of music, from classical to rock to jazz. I wanted something a bit on the less expensive side to add some surround back into our 3.1 setup. As surrounds, they seem to work just fine. They have plenty of clarity for that and fill in the surround sound nicely. They also look nice out in plain sight.
