After reading reviews, I decided to try these out. I am glad I did because these sound great!!! Totally blows away the Alpine speakers that I had before. Not a lot of bass, as expected, but the mids and highs are very clear and composed with distortion that I can tell.     • Great buy for the money.
I installed these in my 93 Wrangler, if you are not familiar with jeeps they are noisy especially after lift kit 31'' tires and naked interior. These speakers throw a lot of sound with surpringly good lows, highs surpassed my expectations. They are paired with 6x9 Pile marine speakers in the rear working together they provide full rich sound which drowns out the majority of road noise. I bought these for the marine rating I spend a lot of time on the beach with my jeep hopefully these will stand up to the elements as stated. Install is a pain; speakers in jeeps of this vintage seem to have been an afterthought. ... show more

The dash speakers in my YJ had been replaced at some point in its life but were blown when I got it. These aren’t a perfect match with the mounting studs but line up good enough to mount on two of the retainers. Install is a pain in the butt, as a YJ dash has to be pulled back to install (Jeep’s poor design) and windshield and roll bar has to be unbolted for that to happen. The sound isn’t bad from these speakers, though the highs and mid bass is where they sound the best. I have noticed that the lower bass notes at a medium to higher volume causes a lot of distortion. I’m going to install bass blockers on them and block the low notes to hopefully cure this issue. After all it’s a Jeep, I need to be able to play high volume so I can hear the music when top and doors are off and I have wind and road noise to compete with. Update March 8th 2022: I returned the original set due to the driver side speaker blowing and sounding terrible on bass notes. The exchange was free and a pleasant experience. Replacing YJ dash speakers isn’t all that fun (removing the dash) but I got it done in a hour this time and wasn’t to bad. The new set sounds great, but I intend to install bass blocker filters to protect them from really low bass notes (hopefully they won’t blow if I do). ... show more

I researched speakers for 2 months. And my research led me to conclude the Polk speakers were the best for bass for “normal” size speakers. I installed these and 6 1/2’s in my wife’s van, and she loves them. They are even louder than expected. The install was a snap, with the provided “dog tails”. No grills come in the box of the 4x6. Lots of install options to match up to your existing holes. Recommend for anyone! ... show more

I installed these in my Jeep YJ. NO, they are NOT easy to install. Not the speakers fault, it's the Jeep's fault.... moving on; These speakers have been abused and they still keep ticking. They sound great, even with the doors and top off at 55mph. At the moment, they are caked with mud. But they still work! Says a lot about them. ... show more

I know these are small speakers but they sound very much like an old transistor radio speaker. I was forced to get this size to replace the old ones in an 89 YJ and they fit pretty good but had to space them away from the grill so the tweeter wouldn’t be smashed into the grill. Also had to open up the holes to fit the stud mounts. They will definitely have to be supplemented with some rear channel speakers but at least they are water resistant and I now have front speakers back. ... show more
