This product definitely works to cover gray hair around your face and roots. It’s temporary but does the trick for a while. I would say it was a good deal for the money for me because I used one bottle over the course of a year. It definitely will stain the inside of a non tiled shower, bathroom counters and cabinets and your hands and finger nails. The color seemed to match well with my black hair and I really like the smell too. My hair feels really nice after using it and then shampooing and conditioner as well. You really can’t go wrong with this product unless you’re using it to color your entire head of hair. It’s just not made for that in my opinion. I quod highly recommend this product for in between maintenance.

I am in my mid 40s with naturally black hair. I have silvers showing at the top of my head so it’s noticeable against the black. Like a landing strip :P For the past 10 years I have been using drugstore permanent hair dyes, Madison reed, and esalon products. All of these are messy to work with, time consuming, and left over products that cannot be reused. I even tried another brand of dye shampoo. My previous hair stylist noticed that my hair looked “dead” or “frizzy” from the permanent hair dyes. This product is much cleaner and easier to work with. Much less time consuming and you get to control how much goes on. Pleasant fragrance. Does not stain my skin as much as the other products. My first time using this, I made the mistake to use my regular shampoo after rinsing the dye shampoo off and I only allowed ten minutes per the bottle. My second attempt, I left the dye shampoo in for 20 minutes and lathered more. The results were amazing and I have not used the shampoo again for a month. I am happy with this product. I shared with a girlfriend of mine about this product and she started using this and she is also impressed with no color bleeding or transfer. My bath towel and pillowcase remains clean. The shower does not have staining at all! The price point is worth it to me. I have not noticed any "frizzy" or "dead" hair since i started using this. The photo of the glove i share is after i finished applying the dye shampoo, no stain! I have washed my hair 5 times since my first application and there is no dye bleeding or the color has not washed out. I am happy with this product :)

Polar is definitely a 5. As a result of reading the reviews, I decided to try. I’m very much like many or the reviewers. A bit skeptical as I have used many different brands of hair color over many many years. They are all messy, they stain, they must be mixed and shaken….all a real hassle. I decided to try it even though I thought it was expensive. But, this stuff WORKS and there was no mess. I would suggest using gloves because your nails may stain. The color was perfect. I used more pumps than suggested. I lathered it with a little warm water and waited 20 minutes not the recommended 10. I’m sold on this hair color and will continue to use it. I’ll get at least two more color treatments so the price actually works out. Excellent Product. I saw an improved texture in my hair as well. I shared this recommendation with my daughters and my friends. You cannot go wrong!! Nice packaging too!

This black dye shampoo works. Leave on for at least 30 min. I normally leave on for a couple hours to give the dye time to bond to my hair, and use a deep conditioner after dying your hair. It leave my hair a little dry. I have kinky coily hair. I dye my gray around my hair line. It does stain your hand and surfaces. Use gloves please. I gave it 4 stars because it stain my carpets and I couldn't get it out.

OK, I tried this product two ways. The first time I assumed it was a shampoo that is applied to wet hair. The results were barely noticeable. I then waited a couple days and tried it again into my dry hair and wow was it effective. It did not color my hair completely but pretty close. I would actually leave it on less that the required 10 minutes because the incomplete coloring makes it look very natural. Variation in the colors of individual hairs really makes it look incredible. I took three photos. One prior to using (I only did my facial hair, btw). First pic is before applying anything, the next pic is after applying it to my wet beard, waiting ten minutes and washing out.... then the third pic is days later and after applying to my dry beard, waiting 10 minutes and washing it out. There was no notable straining of my skin after either application. No rashes or burns, but it does feel a bit hot while it sets on your face. All in all I would buy it again when this one runs out
