The pocketbook era is a nice product. The software is a little slow, but the page turns are really fast. It seems like it take a couple seconds longer to start up or navigate the settings than other ereaders I have used. Under certain lighting conditions other reviewers have mentioned that on the side with the page turn buttons the screen is a little dimmer than the other side. I notice this occurs with the smartlight when I am using it in a dark room. Otherwise I don't notice it. And if I didn't know it was there I may not have noticed it at all. Love it. Everything I hoped it would be. Screen is similar to the Touch HD3 except bigger. For those who say font is not bright enough, simply use a different font. The script is perfect. This is my first day with the device and I am very pleased. This is my first PocketBook device and I've determined to keep up with their releases from now on, which seem to be one device per year. Sturdy and attractive design. PC connection and side loading simple and easy with Windows 8.1. The lighting is pleasing. Very responsive.     • Horrible to navigate
First comes in some foreign language that you have to try and navigate to English. Then you have no clue in the store how to find the audiobooks. I have no idea how to use anyone elses. There are no Utubes out to help you use the thing. I am sending it back. It literally to difficult to navigate. It is very light however but not much room to hold it while reading without touching the screen. I bought this for someone to use the audio that has hearing aides and they are handicapped. Las especificaciones técnicas son muy buenas, tiene una pantalla excelente, me encanta. Pero el software está lleno de bugs, especialmente la aplicación de lectura. Personalmente no me importan los bugs, aunque son bastante molestos, pero si si les importa la experiencia de lectura, es mejor comprar un Kindle (al menos hasta que mejoren la experiencia de usuario, cuando solucionen todos los bugs, se convertirá en el dispositivo de lectura perfecto) ... show more

    • My unit is bigger than this!
Wow this thing is way smaller than what I imagined and I guess my reaction was similar to that of a woman's reaction when they are with someone for the first time. First a gasp then total disappointment. Ok now for the review.. 1. It doesn't sync with Google 2. Sending files to pbsync does not work.. it's been two hours and I'm still waiting... Is some German going to upload them manually for me? 3. Slow rendering and lots of latency 4. Buttons are still and buried into the chassis... Not a good experience 5. NO integration with Libby or public libraries making this useless but it does provide German libraries but then you have to go to Germany to get your ID card;) seriously? 6. This is like using file structures and you better be good at 1990s computing to figure this out... As a Computer Scientist this is dreadful and sad. ... show more
